Katie Benzan knew what she was doing when she sat out her sr season at Harvard in order to play at high level as a grad transfer - she's at Maryland and leading the team in minutes/scoring/61 pct fg pct etc. etc. MVP in recent tourney from their site: In her debut as a Terp scored 13 points shooting 50% from the field, got 2 rebounds and dished out 2 assists in win over Davidson (11/27)...shot 60% from the field scoring 16 points, dishing out 3 assist and grabbing 3 rebounds against #24 Missouri State (11/28)...scored a career-high 28 points shooting 8 for 14 from the three-point line and earned 2020 #BeachBubble Tournament MVP honors in win over #14 Arkansas (11/29)...scored 21 points shooting 6-for-7 three-pointers and dished out 3 assists in a win over Towson (12/3).

IIRC, Texas had a coaching change so she chose Maryland. Smart young lady. Much better chance to play in the WNBA or top level internationally if she excels on a P-6 team.

Moved from the General Sports Discussion board to here as this is a Women's College basketball topic.

She knew what she was doing when she dropped basketball in her sr. year at Harvard. She's having a great grad year for no.8 Maryland and tonight she led her team in their win over Iowa - she had 29 points in 32 minutes at the pg position on 10 of 11 fg shooting including 9 of 10 from 3 pt - I knew she was all-Ivy for a reason but her level of play in a power conference like the Big 10 is very impressive

This was the lead on SportCenter, the best thing I saw today Of course it helped that Scott vanPelt is a die hard Maryland guy

After a tough loss to Texas in the Sweet 16, it looks like Katie is coming back for a 2nd year at Maryland - many student athletes are taking advantage of this 'free' 20-21 season - she had a fantastic year and led all of D.1 in 3 pt fg pct

Why not chase the dream for one more year. Pro ball will still be there if wanted.

Pretty impressive to make a WNBA roster as an undrafted free agent.

Almost unheard of in these times for the WNBA - lot of vets have been cut the last few days.
