a comment on the Fordham board: "I've heard Fordham has sold upwards of 15,000 tickets. Expecting a big crowd" wonder what the real story is regarding capacity for this one and how many tickets are still available ?

my understanding from the Alum office 2 weeks ago... that 30k tickets are allocated equally between the schools; that each had to guarantee 7.5k... that HC had met the guarantee and expected to get to 15k...
since then Fordham has won 2 & we lost to a team ranked below us and beat 1 ranked above us

If there are, perhaps they could be given maps to remind them how to get to Worcester in the future.

I live a lot closer to HC or Yankee Stadium than Chu Chu but have not gotten them yet either but in the back of my mind, I vaguely think I recall that I am supposed to get them at will call. (How's that for precision? )

There were some nice comments about this upcoming tilt on the Lehigh Nation Football Blog, comparing our game to the 150th edition of their rivalry with Lafayette (the oldest US football rivalry). lehighfootballnation.blogspot.com/2016/10/lehigh-at-holy-cross-game-preview.html#moreTwo years after Lehigh and Lafayette tangled at Yankee Stadium, the Crusaders and Rams are competing for the Ram-Crusader Cup in the Bronx this year. Like the 150th, both Holy Cross and Fordham alumni seem to have met the challenge in buying tickets for this most special of occasions. Upwards of 30,000 fans are expected to go, and there are a slew of different Holy Cross and Fordham activities planned, including family trips to the Bronx Zoo, service projects, and (of course) formal and informal gatherings at places like Billy's Sports Bar. It will be a bowl-like atmosphere for Holy Cross in their best-attended game in several decades. While the 150th meeting of The Rivalry at Yankee Stadium was unquestionably a phenomenal social event for both Lehigh and Lafayette fans (and was a triumph at the gate, with more than 48,000 fans in attendance), the truth is Lehigh and Lafayette fans and players get treated to a bowl-like atmosphere every year with The Rivalry wherever it's played. To put this in perspective, last year's home season finale for Holy Cross (vs. Georgetown) was contested in front of 5,785 fans, while Lehigh's finale vs. Lafayette was in front of another Murray Goodman sellout crowd of more than 16,000 fans. This year, the size of the crowd at Yankee Stadium will more than double the number of attendees as The Rivalry at Lafayette (capacity at Fisher Field: 13,750), and will unquestionably be the best-attended Holy Cross football game since the Crusaders' big rival, Boston College, played their last game at Fitton Field in 1986. In that game, Boston College, who were a few years removed from suiting up future Heisman winner QB Doug Flutie on that same field, beat Holy Cross 56-26 in front of more than 25,000 fans. It's a great piece of excitement for the Crusaders, and frankly both Fordham and Holy Cross ought to be congratulated for having a game like this for both schools. Bowl games like the Ram-Crusader Cup are great for both schools and great for Patriot League football in general - and go a long way towards dispelling the myth that Patriot League students and fans are apathetic towards a big-time college football event. Done the right way, they can be a lifetime of memories. Read more at lehighfootballnation.blogspot.com/2016/10/lehigh-at-holy-cross-game-preview.html#VVyYt0CwEAiQEorO.99

I hope that attendance figure is close. I thought that number (30k) was the capacity for our game, and the two schools had passed the halfway mark to reach 30

If this game ends up being the defacto PL championship game expect the attendance to far exceed expectations. They may need to open parts of the stadium usually closed for football games. I'm really hoping for that.
Beat Lehigh!
Beat Colgate!

Gotta be jealous of the Lehigh-Lafayette rivalry. Lacking such has been a huge negative for our program, not often noted.

I heard that the Metro North commuter line from GCT will stop at YS on game day
BTW, this is a pretty good option for those coming west on I84, exit for Beacon just before Newburg-Beacon bridge, few miles south to Beacon train station, one hour train ride to YS. Parking free on weekends

With the way we are playing who cares about going to this game. Would be nice to win but not willing to go and watch another possible debacle. Also who was the one responsible for us to go back to Fordham again next year. If we gave up the home game this year to play in the Bronx again like last year then next year we should get the home game that we gave up and not go back agin to Fordham !! Sheer stupidity on our part. Cant we negotiate better than that. We got taken to the cleaners on that one...

But definitely not due to it being a de facto PL championship game. Both LC and LU had losing records going into the game - both overall and in PL play. It shows how big of a rivalry game that was, for it to sell that many tickets to watch two weak teams play in cold weather in late November. The bad news for Lafayette is that the win likely extended the Tavani era for another year or two.
