But the same announcemapent says that tickets are available at the Yankee box office in general seating, meaning, I guess, not in either team's section

Official Attendance: 21,375
BTW, way back before our season went toilet, I think I guessed the attendance might be 20-22,000. Can't find that post now but somehow we were collectively way off on the crowd being at or near 30,000....as were some outside sources/scribes. By most accounts, all of the HC pre-game events were sold-out so it appears we held up our end of the attendance card.
So what happened to the Fordham crowd ? They had some pre-game events but apparently didn't embrace this unique game quite as much as we did. Were they generally a bit down on the Rams only being 6 and 3 going in ?

Fordham does not usually sell out their small field at Rose Hill, even when they have been very good

I didn't do any of the alum events, but arrived at the stadium early with my family. I was involved with the pregame on field ceremony; one of my HC field minders told me that unlike our team, the Rams didn't take the tour of the stadium offered by the Yankees. I met some Fordham alums on the field. Except for one they seemed somewhat glum; perhaps because this was not as big an event for them; the exception was on our side of the field wearing an HC hat... he was a Korean War vet with a law degree from Fordham as well...from Chicago, 2 grandsons, one on each team.
in fairness it was our "home game"
there was a comment on this board that there was a large contingent of Fordham students in the bleachers, about half were the large high school band in Fordham colors that played the anthem; the color guard was a local high school JNROTC unit... the anthem signer was a Broadway performer, HC '98

I believe the band was from Harrison, NY, just one more place that I have lived during my career. Not sure if it was the same guy, but there was an older gentleman (anyone older then me is "an older gentleman") who was among the many at the Hard Rock Cafe before the game wearing a Fordham athletic jacket and a Holy Cross cap. I am sure there were many with mixed loyalties in attendance. A little bummed that I could not have participated in more of the weekend events as the game itself fell below my expectations.

I'm sure it was mentioned at some point, but I liked Fordham's pinstripes!

It wasn't mentioned that I saw but I also noticed it and didn't care for it.

It was mentioned a number of times by the announcers on the game broadcast. They also gave a mention to the decal with the YS design that HC had on their helmets.

I have never been a big fan of any HC uniform since the early 90s. The bright Barney purple is over the top, and the executive chef white is silly looking, and neither goes well with the flat black helmets. The decal was bla and Fordham's pinstripes looked asinine, bush league frankly.
But these are the very least of our problems.

I ... the anthem signer was a Broadway performer, HC '98 She also brought the house [ship] down with her singing on the Intrepid. Then a multimedia snafu, she was going to lead the alma mater, but the words on the overhead screens were in Greek it appeared. She said she preferred English but it never changed. We struggled through it. I thought it was announced that she appears in Carnegie Hall

JMJ, did anyone there actually go to Holy Cross (rhetorical, facetious question)? As I kid 8485 frequently, it seems that virtually no one realizes there is a second verse/stanza (I wasn't a music major ) to the alma mater. At games the band plays only the first verse and 8485 tells me that's because no one knows the second! (hint: it starts "We give to thee our hearty praise") The only confusion should be between the older and younger alums as to which version should be sung. The "proper," original version starts "O hear they sons in happy song . . . " and being politically correct, after going co-ed, was changed to "O hear thy voices one in song . . . " Maybe the overhead screen should have been in German, rather than Greek, since the tune is to "O Tannenbaum" (again, not a German major, so maybe I spelled that wrong ). I saw the pictures on the Intrepid and glad to see ChuChu made the photo editing cut along with at least a couple of my Classmates and TD128.

I know the second verse. I'll sing both for you Sunday at the DCU Center if you like. In fact I can sing Linden Lane (and about 7 or 8) other songs of HC, several of which I bet you dont know exist. And just a nit to pick that's probably an important distinction to her ... Rochelle Bard, '98 is an opera singer, not a Broadway singer. Interesting story of how she went from HC Biology grad taking a year off before med or vet school to opera singer magazine.holycross.edu/issue_50_2/50_2_alumni_news/profile

Well, 8485, I was not directing my fire at you. I know you know all those songs, some of which are probably unique to the band and that "ilk" . But feel free to regale me at the DCU. I might even take notes. And Rochelle is a classmate of my son's. I can't figure out how to rotate this picture, so just look at this on your IPAD or iPhone and hold it sideways. Edit: Just discovered if you click on the picture, it not only enlarges but also rotates to the correct orientation.

During the alma mater at the President's Council I made sure to pipe up because I know the words by heart. It was like a lot of sing-a-longs, it can be a little shaky at first, but everyone finished strong once they got going.
