Looks like they will have a 30 game, conference only schedule, starting in mid March. Only 30 games is disappointing, but predictably eliminating the beginning warm weather trips and mid-week games. Throw in some weather related cancellations, with difficulty in rescheduling, will probably end up with less than 30.
Good news is there is a plan for a conference tournament.

Hired a new pitching coach. Quite disheartening that the best they could do was hire a volunteer AC, with very little coaching experience. You would think they could get someone with more coaching experience, even if it was at a lower level.
Makes me question how much value they put into the baseball program. First they force coach D out. Then they just elevate Kahovec and hire a pitching coach with no paid experience. Optics appear as if they’re just going with the lowest cost option.

Both volunteer assts have played in MLB. They may not be who you want, but they know the game, and that carries clout with the players. And DiCenzo is a now a minor league skipper in the Cleveland organization. I'd love to hear your story of him being "forced out" as you assert, as this is certainly not the case as I know it.

Big fan of O’Rourke, unfortunately I’m not sure if he was interested in the job.

In light of the pandemic, the Patriot League’s six baseball programs will be split into a pair of three-team divisions for the 30-game league schedule in 2021. Army, Holy Cross and Lafayette will play in the North Division, while Bucknell, Lehigh and Navy will play in the South Division. Teams will play 18 divisional games while facing non-divisional competition 12 times. The season is scheduled to begin on Saturday, March 13, with regular-season play running through May

Splitting a six team league into two divisions is stupid.

Hope you didn't hold the pin too long on that hand grenade you tossed in there. Well done but tell us more because I thought Coach D had one of the more successful recent coaching runs at HC. The team seemed to be in contention every year and then he moved up to organized baseball when he left. I am sure there were some aspects of the job that were frustrating and I agree I would love to see HC invest more in baseball and softball scholarships because those are two games I understand and we have a beautiful facility to watch baseball games at HC when the weather cooperates.

He did leave very late in the offseason/ramp up to the college/spring training though

He was NOT forced out. He left on his own accord. Someone "forced out" of the pL doesn't walk right into a managerial position within an MLB organization.

Good find Purplehaze! Wonder who else we are playing out of conference besides BC and when that officially starts? Any idea of fans at the games? Even in the later season months. I really want to go to an HC game! Fans wise they don't draw much anyway. Plus it is at the bottom of the HC campus

I am almost positive what you are seeing is the schedule that was approved well over a year ago. It is identical to the 2020 schedule, except that the home-road teams have been flip-flopped. It has been totally changed since then for covid reasons. HC is in a division with Lafayette and Army, and will play those teams more than the others. This is what Bucknell's coach emailed the other day about the PL schedule: " For conference play, we have 30 games scheduled over nine weeks. They split us into two divisions. We will play Lehigh and Navy more than the other side of the league. We will not utilize the opening weekend of college baseball, Feb 19-21, however we gain a week on the back end which will be nice to play in better weather. We were approved to play two non-conference weekends before league play starts, which we will utilize to get the team ready for conference play." This would imply that PL games start the weekend of March 13th.

I think bison is correct here - so many conferences have been releasing spring sports while we have silence from the PL - it’s time to say something !

HC begins PL play at home vs Lehigh with DH on 3/13 and 3/14. I believe they plan on playing CCSU the weekend prior.
As of now I don’t think fans are allowed but hopefully that’s just a carryover of the winter sports rules.
