Take this to the UNC message board, b-foles, because I’m not sure how productive it will be learning of cancellations for baseball games throughout the season.
It’s weird, it almost seems like some relish in the fact when games are postponed / cancelled.

It’s weird, it almost seems like some relish in the fact when games are postponed / cancelled. Since both UNC and Kentucky are much larger funded programs than the Patriot League, we are already seeing cancellations in college baseball. You guys just said one positive test shouldn't take down Patriot League baseball but it is already taking down the best baseball conference in the country with the SEC.

Will the PL show some common sense and not cancel games if one person on a roster of 30+ guys tests positive while the remaining players are all playing a game spread out on an open-air field? How about have 29 other guys stuck in a dugout with a player who tested positive? What social distancing is done there? I'm assuming baseball will follow the basketball model and the players will not all be in the dugout, but will spread out in the area formerly used by fans

Massey Rating Holy Cross 201 Central Connecticut 256
2 Questions
1. Will HC be able to play games outside with this awful winter weather we are having. 2. Can fans go to an outdoor baseball game at HC?
Can't wait for the season.

Can fans go to an outdoor baseball game at HC? Can't wait for the season. 1 Absolutely. Not optimistic about Lehigh in 3 weeks, but Bucknell two weeks after that should be easy. Although they might want to get their name in at the baseball complex in Northboro that has turf fields. The snow will be gone by Bucknell but the field might be pretty wet. Opening day at Fenway is before the Bucknell series. That turf field complex in Northboro could be playable for Lehigh. The downside is, lots of groups try to get early season games in out there. I'm not sure how that place prioritizes requests. 4 games in 2 days is a lot 2. No. That is subject to change as we move forward, but I do not see HC welcoming a lot of outsiders on campus at all. I do think players' families will be allowed in by the end of the season. I looked at a random box score from 2019. 319 fans. Social distancing should be an option, but I don't see HC letting people in. However, given the small number of fans that are normally there, no guarantee that the school will post a public safety person there to run off anyone who walks onto campus and tries to sneak in

I think with it being outdoors and basically at the bottom of the HC campus they should let fans go if they want. When you go to a game there normally, there is no tickets and no concessions. All they have is a table with the game program on it.

I would be pretty optimistic of them playing Lehigh in three weeks in Northboro or at Clark (they have turf also). I covered a baseball game on Feb. 19th in Northboro one year between Top 10 D-2 teams in Southern New Hampshire and West Chester, U. Since they have lights, there is plenty of time to get in two days of games out there with three fields at the same time.

West Chester who won the national title in 2012 and 2017 so well worth my time.

I see they posted the Cutout CRU thing on social media. Even with the Governor saying stay tuned. Looks like no fans for Spring.
CCSU said this on their website "The Central Connecticut State Department of Athletics has extended its prohibition on fans during the spring season. It is a continuation of the decision to not allow fans during the winter sports season, which included men's and women's basketball and women's swimming & diving."
Prohibition wording is interesting.....

It is interesting that Northeastern had an open weekend (Villanova cancelled on them and Maine too) this week and Holy Cross didn't take the date.

We have two very capable sr starters in Dvorak and Dawson but as we discussed earlier on this thread Mason Black of Lehigh got the preseason Pitcher of the Year nod... and for good reasons. He opened the Lehigh season this past weekend in 9-0 win over Coppin St. He struck out 11 batters in 5 innings of work and was named National Pitcher of the Week by Collegiate Baseball. We play Lehigh at home in the first league series in 2 weeks. Might see a good pitching matchup then.

Roster has been updated, looks like some cuts might have been made. Surprised, as they’re allowed a larger roster this year and I don’t think there’s much of an added cost by carrying more players.
Also, looks like this weekend’s DH is now Sunday instead of Saturday.

I’m going to try to watch in person, hoping no fans allowed inside the fences but can watch outside.
I think Frontrow is the streaming service for the NEC, but the series is not currently listed on the schedule.

Dumbest rule in the world no fans at college baseball.
It's outdoors.
Let the people go the games!
Texas and Mississippi lift mask mandates and the Northeast still can't have fans.
I hope we win all 3 games by 10 runs.
