HC lists the last women's game as a tie "lost in a shootout." Which is it, a tie or a loss?

Puck about to drop for the play-in game between Holy Cross and UNH.
If you have CBS Sports, you can watch on your big screen.

No disrespect to either club, but CBS Sports will air anything these days, huh? Unless you’re an alum or friend / family of a player, who’s watching this game? I can’t imagine there are lines on a game like this. Cmo?
Edit: Just realized this isn’t televised on CBS Sports.

HC lists the last women's game as a tie "lost in a shootout." Which is it, a tie or a loss? I think you get 3 points for a win, regular time or overtime. If still tied, the shootout winner gets 2 points and the loser 1 point. Something like that. Shootouts suck in my opinion.

Down 1-0 to UNH in the first. Game is free on collegesportslive.com.

UNH goes up with a goal midway through the first - then a bad HC breakdown defensively allows a Wildcat breakaway.
UNH, 2-0.

UNH, 2-0, after one. Wildcats faster, put constant pressure on Jada Brenon, who didn't have much of a chance on either goal.

Game is considered a tie for NCAA purposes and is only counted as a shootout win/loss for conference play.

Still 2-0, after two. Much better showing by the Crusaders, pressing play in the offensive zone, but couldn't convert on a few good scoring opportunities.

Doesn’t feel like we’re very far from being able to compete with the middle tier of HE. Hopefully we can turn a corner next year and get closer to being a .500 team in the league. We’re further along at this point than I thought we’d be.

3 of our top 4 scorers this year were freshmen. The other was a sophomore. So, the future seems pretty bright.

As HC continues to improve as a member of Hockey East, the recruiting class continue to improve as well. They've had some impact players in the past few seasons such as Antonia Matzka (3rd Team All-Hockey East and the team's only selection to the "All-Star" teams). It is worth noting that one of our best players was only a 3rd Team all-star. Quite arguably our best player all season, goalie Jada Brenon (whose only flaw in net might actually not be a flaw--her shorter height) was left off of the list. She led the league in saves this year (shows you where our defense and shot-blocking is). Speaking of, I was quite impressed in both the Maine series and the loss to UNH at our shot blocking and general defensive play in zone. We have shown more drive and tenacity than in previous years.

Given the way she was peppered with shot at times, where did she place in goals allowed?

Hockey East might be on top of women’s hockey this year - NU (no.1 ranking) reached the championship game today with a 3-2 OT win over Minn-Duluth in the semis - some of those very one-sided scores vs HC might not hurt so much

And Minnesota was snubbed of a bid this year...I think they get in over both BC and PC if there was inter conference play.

Wisconsin won 2-1 in overtime over Northeastern on a goal from behind the net to continue their title run. Tough way for NU to lose...but the West comes through with a title.
