On CBSSN To see one of the top college refs, Brian O’Connell, was a surprise Obviously only because there are so few major college hoops games today. The first and probably last top ref the PL will see this season. 22-20 lehigh 7:30 left in first half

In addition to Lafayette, Lehigh, and HC, Bucknell has never had names on the back of the jerseys. Not sure about American, but I know at least some years they also haven't. Army also doesn't have names. Not sure about Navy.

You have to be close over 60 to remember seeing Holy Cross in action with the names of the players on the back of the Jeseys. It occurred during the last years of Coach Jack Donahue. The 1972 Purple Patcher has multiple pictures of the basketball team displaying names on the back of the Jerseys. Starting on page 142, of the Patcher, page 3 of the document in the link below, there is a picture of Bruce Grentz. If you scroll to the basketball section, pictures of Malcolm Moulton (page 27) Stan Grayson, (page 32 against Syracuse), Bruce Grentz, (page 32), Jim Schnurr (page 35 against Seton Hall), Buddy Venne, (page 36 against Dartmouth), and Gene Doyle (page 32), display their names. Interesting to remember that we had home games against Syracuse as well as Seton Hall at home in the confines of the Aud. crossworks.holycross.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?filename=3&article=1030&context=purple_patcher&type=additional

Been a long time since AU's had names on the jerseys. I think they did in the '90s for a while, but I don't think we have since joining the PL.

Isn't the whole point of numbers so you don't need names on the back?
Some pro teams put names on the backs of road uniforms only. Speaking for myself at Hart, I don't really need the names of the Crusaders. The visiting teams aren't so easy to recognize without a program
