On the new photo in fitton for this week's ring of honor Jack is pictured as #28. That was his number with the Broncos. he wore 16 at HC. that looks very bad

Part of me understands making a mistake if this was a press release -- we're all careless at times and don't double-check our work...but how is it possible to make two mistakes with this? When printing a large sign and hanging it inside the stadium, wouldn't you double, triple, and quadruple check every detail here?
Fitton look great, otherwise, minus everything about the game.

Also have the wrong Murphy up there... Bad form I agree--you have to get these details correct. Let's see how our AD team handles this

Nate answered, saying that he would notify media relations and would get it corrected asap. Maybe SOV should let him know about Murphy

The picture of Lentz should definitely be the one on the inside cover of the 1967 yearbook that has him in the pocket "Throwing THE PASS" to Pete Kimener to beat BC.
(The pic on the back inside cover had Pete "Catching THE PASS".)
Great memories.....can't believe it is 50 years ago.

Here's a link to the 1967 yearbook. Scroll down a bit to page thru it. I see no such picture inside the front or back cover. crossworks.holycross.edu/purple_patcher/37/Turn to page 272 and you'll see this picture with the reception on the opposite page Trying to figure out how to make these a bit bigger, but this will have to make do for now

That's Tom Haley catching one of our 3 TD's in the first quarter... it was in the right corner of the EZ... the Jack picture is probably that pass... THE PASS was to the left side of the same EZ

That's right. Thanks for the memories, boys. Lentz to Kimener. Truly one of the most memorable moments in HC football history.

Do you think the O'Melia Award will be reinstated in 2018? It should be.

I believe #32 blocking for JL is running back Tim Hawkes.

John Gorter '67, #70, is the LT blocking in that pic; he was switched from MLB to LT that season and was a big reason for the success of the team. Tom Kelly'67, free safety, had the punt return that set up THE PASS. That team faced several future NFL'ers that season.

THE PASS was to the left side of the same EZ This is correct. That catch took place right in front of where I was sitting, and Tom Haley had to reach out for the ball. If memory serves, Pete Kimener, who wore number 88, and made the winning catch, had to reach back to make the catch. Also, the Haley catch was made early in the game when the sky was bright. By the time the winning TD was scored, the late-afternoon gloom was setting in. These photos are in the small, all-photo volume of the two-volume '67 yearbook. Another picture in the volume that deserves attention is of a Dartmouth ball-carrier being tackled. In the immediate background is the scoreboard, which shows the score as HC 7, Dartmouth 6; the quarter as four; and the time remaining as 0:00.

Gene Sisco '67 was the editor in chief of our '67 Purple Patcher and made the wise decision to have a two volume presentation. One was the traditional book. The other was a photo only story of our four years on the hill. It is to be treasured.

The other was a photo only story of our four years on the hill. It is to be treasured. It is a special book...one that reflected the talent of many people in our class. (Mine was damaged in a small lot, but slowly I am peeling back the pages. Some make it better than others.)
