Not LA, but Grandison and his little brother went across the country from Oakland to prep school in New Hampshire Who pays for the PG year? Do schools like WA offer full athletic scholarships to sign talented PG's? My guess would be no particularly since I can't recall that subject ever being bandied about on Crossports. A large number of the better athletes at these prep schools are on scholarship.

Not that HC is involved but TJ Power is announcing his college choice today at 5. His teammate at WA announced yesterday he will be attending Marquette.

Power’s finalists involve the usual suspects plus BC. He says he wants to also play baseball in college.

NERR has a blurb today on Seth Joba, a 6'9" kid HC offered this summer.
Introducing Seth Joba Thursday, September 8th, 2022
0 Introducing Seth Joba Corey Graham Elite big man Seth Joba is headed to Maine for this school year to play for Bridgton Academy.
He made his mark on the UA Rise circuit this past spring/summer, proving to be an explosive stretch big who rebounds. Joba earned a total of ten scholarship offers since April.
Prior to the AAU season, he led Orchard Park (NY) to a 19-3 record, averaging 16.6 points, 9.9 rebounds, and four blocks per game. Joba was also selected to the All Western New York First Team.
His ability as a Division One prospect has become clear in the NYSPHSAA and on one of the better independent circuits. Joba now has an opportunity to prove himself on his biggest stage yet in NEPSAC AAA.
Below are some of his highlights from the high school season:

BU also offered Jones. It will be difficult to top an offer from Davidson (and whatever else is sure to come his way) but BU has a secret weapon - Parker's brother, Caelan, is already a Terrier.

Caelan has been on the team the last couple of years. He is a junior and I think he has three years of eligibility left (including this year).

Does your nom-de-plume have anything to do with the Mapp that played freshman ball for HC way, way, way back when? Or perhaps in reference to something else?

Majestic was a NYC phenom who went to UVA. Suffered a terrible knee injury before his soph year and was never the same. Does have multiple degrees from UVA.

Thanks for the clarification. Thought it was some kind of nostalgia for a player in Jack Donahue's penultimate recruiting class (Mapp, Malcolm Moulton, John Budris, Jim Maley).
IIRC he was from Brockton and locals who had seen him play in high school felt him getting a scholarship was a real head-scratcher. They turned out to be right, and I don't think the kid took advantage of the free education he was getting either.

FWIW, there is no one with the last name of Mapp on the official list of HC basketball varsity lettermen. .
