His NERR page Nothing in 2022 Not ranked in 2023 Massachusetts ratings He averaged 16 ppg as a frosh on the Natick varsity. His highlights from that year show a kid with some pretty advanced skills including some nifty behind the back passes. His coach called him a point forward.

Is that a forward with the skills of a point guard?

Is that a forward with the skills of a point guard? George Blaney used to call Chris Potter a point forward.

From 247 sports today on 2023 prospect's (from Pennsylvania) performance in Kansas City over the weekend: Playing with WE R1, Thomas Haugh was able to make some noise and he’s an intriguing prospect. At 6-foot-9 he’s a very mobile and fluid four man who can stretch defenses with jump shooting or put the ball on the floor and attack defenders when they close out. Maryland recently offered as did Northwestern while Kansas State is among those looking. Haugh also has offers from programs like Boston, Fairfield, Holy Cross, Marist, Quinnipiac, Rhode Island, Siena and VCU so his recruitment is really running the gamut. More info: www.cityofbasketballlove.com/news_article/show/1177226He has blown up this spring as they say in the biz.

Wow...remembering Chris, that could be quite an addition! I am not comparing this kid to CP other than saying he is a forward who likes to pass the ball.

Perhaps Colin Cunningham would be a good comparison player. I believe Ralph commented favorably on CC’s passing a number of times

As far as hs goes, he was selected to the Boston Herald All-Scholastic Team.

According to Verbal Commits, HC offered a schollie yesterday to Carnegie Johnson, a 6’ point guard from NYC and Blair Academy.

According to Verbal Commits, HC offered a schollie yesterday to Carnegie Johnson, a 6’ point guard from NYC and Blair Academy. He is actually from Greenwich CT. Not sure how long he has been at Blair. Just read a very interesting story on the Johnson family which focused on CJ’s great-grandfather and his quest to find a better life for his family. I believe the GGF eventually became a professor at BC after serving in the military.

My gosh, I want Carnegie to come to HC just so I can meet his family! What a tremendous, inspirational story, one of the best I've ever read on this board.

Wonder if by some chance Torey Thomas has knowledge of this family....not that he had the same upbringing, but for some reason while reading the story I thought of Torey..

As a hoops recruit in this class, I see two factors impacting decisions: the portal and for HC the uncertain future of the coach and staff.
Will the portal get high school players to commit as soon as possible so they aren't held hostage by the portal game?
Will the uncertain future of Nelson, factual or not, have players wait until there is more clarity? How will opposing coaches use this real or unreal uncertainty against us?

Good point, efg; if a high school (or prep school) kid has done his/her homework, there will be situations where if they hem and haw on an offer, it's grabbed up by a transfer.
Nelson's uncertainty speaks for itself.
Regarding Mela, the league he's in insn't great but it has produced a few D1 players, most recently Ethan Wright, who's going to do a grad year at Colorado after playing well for Princeton. Not to say Newton North has any players on its current team, even though they were state runner-up, their big guy looked awful in the Natick film and in the state finals vs BC High.

Maybe you thought of TT because he is from the same area in lower CT. IIRC, Torey is from Stamford and went to hs in White Plains.
