timholycross I believe Lowder had a significant allergic reaction.. .He did not play for EMU after he had the reaction. Not true. He had the reaction during the Toledo game on January 12th. He played in the next five games, then disappeared. Whether his particularly fragrant performance during those last five games had anything to do with the reaction, who knows? He did seem to be allergic to sharing the basketball, but I'm not sure that's a thing . . .

Would bet few if anyone here saw Granderson playing meaningful minutes, let alone starting for an Illinois team that is now the #4 ranked team in the country.
AIR, several folks looked for his faults....couldn't do this, can't do that, etcetera. Amazing what we had and didn't really appreciate it. Did he make the right move ? Duh

Grandison has done a nice job giving a very talented Illinois team what they needed from their 5th starter. He's at best their 5th or 6th best option on offense, plays decent defense and doesn't make a lot of mistakes. He was the 2nd or 3rd player given a chance to fill that role and to his credit he seized the opportunity. He was a very good player here and obviously would have been a big asset if he had stayed. Happy things have worked out for him.

Worcester Gray Thanks for the date correction. After he had missed 3-4 games in a row, I looked for something on the internet about his absence. I saw a comment on the EMU hoops blog about the allergic reaction without noticing the date and figured that was the explanation. for his absence. He did come back and play 5 games after the reaction as you point out and then didn’t play again. An interesting journey from November, 2019 until now.

Yeah, I made the same mistake with the timing of the medical problem. Odd situation for sure.
Another examination of the EMU Eagles Nest finds no new information.

Maybe as simple as "DNP-CD." Wouldn't be the first time.

Duh If we're strictly talking basketball, yes Grandison made the right move. If we're looking at the big picture, no he did not. Objectively speaking, I think there are exactly zero people in the last 178 years who made the right move leaving HC

Where JG has surprised me is with his defense and rebounding against Big 10 competition. I give him a lot of props for that. Offensively, he showed his skills while at HC, and as Brad Underwood has mentioned, he was well coached at the offensive end of the floor.
But let's be honest - while he was here he didn't come close to matching AB in floor burns from going after loose balls. Having said that, I wish him the best, and hope his team goes far in the tourney. I can't get too worked up over school decisions made by 18-22 year olds.

Well put, NAD. I feel much like you on general decisions by adolescents and some young adults. But, I do get burned up by the disloyalty some 18-22 year olds show to both team and teammates when they jump ship and abandon them. With JG I seem to remember that HC was one of the few colleges willing take a chance on him and his "thanks" was a wave as he left town.

Fair point, Rob. In this day and age, though, it almost seems like one of those heredity vs. environment discussions. The transfer portal may explode one of these days - might be easier to create a portal for those players not moving.

I hope to see that explosion of the TP quite soon. I am sure it has created opportunities for a few athletes who made a poor choice of colleges and felt trapped. However, IMHO from well outside it does seem that abuses outweigh positive moves through the TP.

The portal has 300 this afternoon. Wonder how many additional players will be in the portal in the next two weeks. Just like JP, another player who is a rolling stone and has spent a limited amount of time at a institution is Sloan Seymour (6'9"), who played frosh year at Siena, followed Jamion Christian to George Washington. He sat a year and played this year as a R-Sophmore. I remember hearing comments from several people when HC played Siena at the Hart, how his relatives wanted him to come to HC. The kid had quite a few offers when he was in high school according to verbal commits. Wonder where he will land next? www.verbalcommits.com/players/sloan-seymour

He was leaving Siena. The vast majority of his field goal attempts as a frosh were 3 pointers and he averaged something like one rebound per game. Not sure how he did this year at GW.

More of the same this year at GW. Took 43 shots, 38 were threes. Hardly ever gets to the foul line and averaged .7 rpg.

How many guys 6-9 commit just 2 personal fouls in 150 minutes of play?
He also has a really low turnover rate--guessing he just stands outside the arc and shoots as soon as the ball touches his hands-never risks passing or dribbling...

Played 12 of 17 games 12 mpg 4 ppg 38 of 43 fg were threes 37 % 3fg .7 rpg And had 12 free throw attempts in 148 minutes.
As a freshman, Seymour played 879 minutes and had a total of three free throws. He didn't make an attempt from the line in twenty-two consecutive games.

One of the departed (coach not player) has his Mt. St. Mary’s team up 9 with 10 minutes to go in NEC championship game on ESPN2. Let’s see if they can finish the job.

Coach E is going dancing Congrats The most impressive part of the win is that they did it by limiting a very good offense. This was Bryant's first home loss this year. Congrats to him indeed; the Milan Brown tree is alive and well.

Grasso reported to be a finalist for the Fordham job - so the Rams can go for him now if they want Grasso was very unimpressive tonight, looking like a sweaty mess on the sideline. If he couldn’t handle an 11-10 MOUNT team coached by coach e and whose best win this year was vs #213 Wagner, I don’t think he’s the guy to turn the Fordham disaster around.

Another departed from the program. . .
During the MSM game last night they showed team photos of their past championship teams. Coach Milan Brown was up front smiling with his team
