My phone says it’s currently snowing in Hamilton but should stop soon. Hope the boys got a good night of sleep and are ready to roll today. Colgate is tough.

And very big. Will be interesting to see if their bigs have athleticism or are just big. If they are athletic, HC will really have their hands full.

Their 6’10”, 245 lbs Soph from RI (Keegan Records) averages 9 ppg and 10 rpg. Shoots 28.6% from the line so a Hack-a-Shack approach could work if we had any frontcourt depth. Alas, we do not. The other bigs all seem to fit in the role player category based solely on stats.

Those stats are the reason that Colgate is #21 in the NET

Their 6’10”, 245 lbs Soph from RI (Keegan Records) averages 9 ppg and 10 rpg Records is ranked 5th nationally in defensive rebounds per game. Big test for Gerrale, who is currently 35th in OR/G.

Still far more concerned with their 4 guards

Other Colgate stats of note.
FT% - 78.6 (14th). 2FG% - 63.4 (4th) 3FG% - 39.2 (17th)
The four Colgate guards are a combined 37-42 from the line.

Pressure the guards on the perimeter, front Records (and double on the back if he gets it low), make them use lots of clock on as many possessions as possible.

I don't know Colgate well at all this year if they've got a talented big man their coach would be foolish not to exploit our defensive weakness (Faw's well known fouling tendencies are an added bonus in this regard).

Hoping Rabinovich can contribute minutes (if available) after a full week of practices. Could use the size. Looking forward to this one. Great test for this young team

Being forced into and/or settling for too many tough 3s.
And lack of scoring is keeping us from setting up full court defensive pressure.
Colgate with a big advantage if this game plays out slowed down in the half court.
