Per Jeff Borzello Dave Paulsen is out at George Mason after six seasons, sources told ESPN We should make a change and hire him immediately Not only a class act, and friend, but he can coach We can win next year or wait until Nelson eventually wins or fails and start all over again College basketball is all about the coach. You need the coach to build a successful program. Probably to early to do something with Nelson but we all want to win. Hopefully next year. Won the last 2 games. Gives me some confidence into next year. After next year if the record is the same it has been. Then you will really hear people wanting a change. HC 1 NCAA/NIT since 2008. Fans are impatient. I am.

Maybe should put this under WBB but it is being reported that the Harvard WBB Coach has resigned. Nothing official is reported yet. Leaves a big void in Ivy League WBB. Her Associate Head Coach is a former Holy Cross WBB assistant. Will be interesting to see if he gets a look. He was also an assistant with Magarity @ UNH, that said, I think these reports may be incorrect.

She is 65, has won 600 games and perhaps has had enough. Certainly no reason to fire her given they didn't have a team this year.

The Rizzotti news should be a cautionary tale for UConn. Just because someone spent a lot of time with Geno doesn’t make them the next Geno. Will be very interesting to see whether they stay within the family or not when that time comes.

OTOH, Carla Berube had a hell of a D1 debut last year, 29-1. Also, Marisa Mosely at BU was part of Geno's staff for several years and seems to be doing a good job there.

Berube would definitely be the best “in the family” choice as she has a proven record of winning a lot at multiple levels. Shea Ralph has been there a long time but never been a head coach. Same with Dailey who may retire when Geno does.

Berube would definitely be on the short list, if she wanted to move into that sort of pressure cooker. The fact that she has never recruited with scholarships is one issue however. At this point, I doubt Mosely would be in the running. She has done OK but certainly not fantastic.

Might see UAlbany return to our schedule soon... they just hired Dwayne Killings (Marquette asst, former Nelson colleague) as their new head coach.

Jeff Goodman reporting that Fordham is close to making a choice - finalists seem to be Jared Grasso of Bryant and Kyle Neptune (Lehigh '07) who's been a top asst at 'Nova for 8 years. We'll see very soon

I think the chance of Maciariello taking the Fordham job is zero. It's a career killer and he is a hot commodity, having won the MAAC regular season title two years in a row. Also has much better facilities there.
He is in the middle of his contract term and negotiating for a raise at the moment. I think he interviewed for the job to put pressure on Siena's administration to give him a new, more lucrative contract. If he needs to leave, he will have better opportunities in the future.

All that may be true, but something about the job must have attracted Neptune who is highly thought of. Jay Wright must believe it is worth taking

"Probably too early to do something with Nelson but we all want to win." Something now needs to "be done"? How about supporting Coach Nelson?

Siena coach trying to strike while the irons hot knows there's no chance of winning MAAC as long as Pitino's in league.

Wojo out at Marquette. Dwayne Killings left Marquette just in time before the axe hit the staff. I’ve been down on Wojo since watching his team have no apparent plan to even try to slow down Ja Morant in Hartford a couple of years ago. Hope Nelson is a better strategist.
