I am NOT an expert on baseball but Buck seems to really know his stuff, yes?

Yes, in the eyes of many he does.

Not as much as his dad, who also was humble

I spent several years in St Louis and became a huge Jack Buck fan. He was a beloved figure in the city--a real gentleman in addition to being a great broadcaster. He was the emcee for virtually every charity fund raiser (and I'm assuming he did them gratis) and I never heard a bad word said about him

Joe is more arrogant doing football, when he often talks over the color guy, frequently, Troy Aikman. What can Troy know ?

I've had the tube on mute and much prefer the radio feed with I think Sean McDonough....who is excellent.

Interesting dynamic in the Buck-Smoltz team with the color man speaking 80% of the time.....

If you're not watching, the Tribe has scored three runs with two outs in the eighth off Chapman to tie it up. Tune in now.

Two strike bunt with man on third and one out? They deserve to lose. Going to the bottom of the ninth. Indians are walking off.

Nice to see the Cubs win at last. I was living in the Chicago area in 1969 and still remember how excited Cub fans were through July when it looked as if Leo Durocher's Cubs were going to beat the curse. I also recall the growing unease in the sports pages of the Tribune as things started to slip away -- e.g., the Cubs can't lose, they have more future hall-of-famers than the Mets. Anyway, I hope many of those disappointed fans from 1969 are still around to enjoy the victory.

joe maddon is a great manager but not in games 6 and 7. he's a heck of a lucky manager ! starting with using chapman with a 5 run lead in game 6, and pulling hendricks early for lester in game 7, etc... if the cubs had not pulled this out, he'd be the object of much criticism this morning

Wow-the Cubs win in a sensational World Series--one for the ages. Good Series but a FANTASTIC Game 7. BTW, I screemed NOooooooooooo at the tube when they rolled out the tarp
Awful to watch particularly when you have the added chore of Buck's presence
Maddon came this close to being the leading new curse of the Cubs.

IMO- biggest play was the pinch runner tagging up and making it to second on a fly ball. Something IMHO could be done successfully a lot more than it is.
Cleveland's pitchers flat ran out of gas....Cubs made them throw a lot of pitches with few strikeouts last night.

maybe a stupid question.....why was Chapman left in? Because Maddon had no confidence in any other available pitcher

I am very happy for the people of Chicago and sad for the people of Cleveland. Happier for Windy City citizens than I am sad for Clevelanders as at least Cleveland got a championship courtesy of LeBron and company.

hoops- Didn't Chapman show signs at the end of the prior inning that he was losing his sharpness.
