might the bball cx announcement impact spring fball?
i.e. is there a Tier 1 bball bubble distinct from a Tier 1 fball bubble?

Though I am not sure there is a distinct bubble, a Tier 1 bubble for football would theoretically intersect with a Tier 1 bubble for basketball at strength and conditioning and sports medicine. Hoops locker rooms are the other side of the Luth from football Given the timeline, the Tier 1 individual in hoops probably became infected on the Thursday or Friday after the Boston U game.

My fear is that we’re going to lose the whole football season if we have a single Tier 1 positive test. A two week quarantine in a 4 week season is pretty much a death sentence.

I did also learn today that the accepted CDC standard for close contacts is now quarantining for 7 days if they get a negative test on Day 5 or later. The old standard was 14 days regardless of test or not and many seem to still be adhering to that.

^ So what. It's football, not outdoor water polo. It's supposed to be cold.

Just heard that all athletic practices have been suspended until Tuesday due to positive COVID tests on some of the teams. ADMB apparently made this call to minimize cross-transmission.

With 15 teams currently in training this week (Men’s Basketball and Women’s Ice Hockey now over in the last week, which made 17 teams last week), seems prudent. HC has a large number of teams using the Hart Center this week for Sports Medicine, Weight and Strength usage and team drills in the IPF and gyms. While men’s and women’s golf and men’s and women’s rowing practice off campus making a total of 21, they still need access to Sports Medicine and the Smith Performance Center.
Trying to manage so many athletes, even in a 281,000 sq ft building is a logistical conundrum with the pandemic.
With so many athletes on 15 teams. This is not like Rawhide......”Get them in...Get in out”. A number of teams will be in the building simultaneously in the afternoon and evening.

Troubling is that the baseball team may have multiple positive COVID tests which places their season in a precarious situation.

Having an uninterrupted season is a uncertain adventure with so many teams in the mix.

Troubling is that the baseball team may have multiple positive COVID tests which places their season in a precarious situation. It's the seventh inning stretch and Covid has a no-hitter going. A pause isn't ideal, but there is still snow on the ground so the weather would probably have eliminated some early season games anyway.
