So, Navy's game with Loyola tonight, which was re-scheduled from Sunday because of the snowstorm, was postponed because of an inconclusive Tier 1 test from Navy. Guessing that will ultimately lead to AU's games this weekend against Navy being postponed. Heard y'all don't have any games until the 20th. Let's get it on....somewhere in Jersey, maybe? :-)

It does seem logical. The schedule is an unbalanced mess already. It would ease up the make up strain at the end of the year. The downside it doesn't fit into the minimizing overnight travel goal - although that hasn't stopped many big schools

Easy enough, both teams respectively charter a flight to JFK and make arrangements to play at Carnesseca Arena. Each flight by HC and AU under 2 hours. In air flight from Worcester Regional to JFK is 48 minutes, Gate to Gate 56 minutes. In air flight time from Regan to JFK is 45 minutes. Gate to Gate 1 hour 14 minutes. 8 miles from JFK to Carnesseca. Or Washington to Worcester, less than 90 minutes flight time.Anyone with a Lear or Gulfstream at their disposal? www.travelmath.com/flying-time/from/Worcester,+MA/to/Washington,+DC Guess the solution and game will not occur. But the game is feasible without overnight travel.

OK gym at Ramapo. college and easy to get there. HC played the Army women there when their roof leaked causing them to need a new site for the game.

Would likely have to be an up and back bus, though the league hasn't expressly prohibited overnight stays; the PL only spoke of a 'significant reduction in travel and overnight stays' in its basketball release last November.

I would believe the no fly rule is on regular commercial flights. Wonder if there would be an exception for private charter?. DC to Worcester can be achieved in two hours. But realistically, I know that it will not happen. Fun to speculate a hypothetical.

HC stayed overnight at Colgate
Assuming we're talking neutral court in the NYC area, why does anyone have to fly? HC takes a longer bus ride Bucknell
In terms of finding a place to play, it doesn't even have to be a college. Not like the issue is seating capacity. I don't know what infrastructure ESPN + needs, but that's the biggest hiccup. Without that issue, any high school gym would work

An easier solution, which the PL may well do, is to have American play Lafayette. AU and LC were supposed to play this past weekend but had the series cancelled. LC's games with Lehigh for this upcoming weekend were cancelled due to a Lehigh positive test.
If Navy does end up playing AU, then maybe Lafayette vs HC.

Quick trip to fly into and out of Worcester Regional to DC Reagan, under two hours gate to gate. Beats 4 plus hours on the bus to get to a mid way point in NJ. Also, would not need to find a gym to stage the game.

Folks, you gotta use the word "postponed" or "postponed, makeup date ..." where "..." could be "TBA".
Does anyone know of a basketball game in the Patriot League (not one of Army or Navy's non-leaguers) that has been cancelled? Just postponed!

On the women's hockey thread there is a schedule for Friday and one of the teams playing is BU.
So in hoop, BU/Colgate should be on and BU should be available for makeups going forward.

You would think so, although Boston U has done an occasional unethical thing when it comes to scheduling. I wouldn't be stunned if they said basketball is not ready to resume, while letting hockey play. (Their men's hockey btw is also playing - vs BC.)

The cold air and glass enclosure of a hockey rink is more conducive to spread than a basketball arena if I have my physics right.

Near the end of the Jack Parker era the B.U. men's hockey program was cited (could be by the Boston Globe as opposed to the NCAA) for many of the ills of big time football and basketball in power conference schools. Some team members had developed a sense of entitlement and were acting obnoxiously on campus including towards women. BU hockey had a high opinion of itself then, perhaps it still does.

I haven't seen any evidence of BU hockey being favored over BU basketball in 2020-21. Men's team has played 6 games, women's team 5. Unless there is a specific basketball outbreak, I would expect this to continue.
