Disappointing for the hard working student athletes, but more justifiable than the 1980 withdrawal from the summer Olympics. This cancellation is for public health not politics.

It is just odd when I am seeing long time NCAA staffers taking buyouts now and the NCAA funds are starting to dwindle...We will see what happens with D-1

When even Ivy League schools drop teams, the times they are a-changing. Unfortunately.

Article says they're getting rid of risk tiers. At the same time they are saying that transmission is more likely in contact sports than non contact sports and also more likely in indoor sports than outdoor sports. While the article concedes that factors outside the actual sport are important, the article says that transmission risk is different in different sports but they're eliminating the idea of categorizing sports by risk level. Sounds contradictory to me

The NCAA isn't needed. Conferences should be able to mange for themselves.

As I read the article, it's the national championships that are being cancelled. Individual conferences can hold a conference championship if they want to. The only issue is that the winner of the conference championship would have no national tournament/competition to move onto
