You have to play the best to be the best! #GoCrossGo ! Not a rationale for changing the schedule more than halfway through. Somewhat logical to play BU 6 times, but Colgate is much further away than Army. Why not play Army 6 times instead of the dominant PL team ?

Definitely screwed. 12 game against the preseason top 2. 6 against everyone else.

Yup...IMHO HC got screwed with this schedule change. However, the record this year does not really matter, but these games may pay benefits by next season if they help our players to develop.

The record always matters Do you want to tell that to Butler and Faw ?

The record always matters Do you want to tell that to Butler and Faw ? I am sure they are aware of that fact. Yes, I would be willing to tell them that. IMO, how their play, and that of their teammates, has developed is far more important this year than the team record. That is just my opinion, but I am aware of what I said.

Maybe more important to you, but to no one connected to the team

I know it's supposed to be a family friendly board but I think this calls for an exception.

Maybe more important to you, but to no one connected to the team I would never try to speak for the entire team. Interesting and impressive that you believe you have such universal knowledge of every player. BTW I never said the record what no importance (which you seem to imply). What I said was that in this season the record does not really matter as much as player development - which would explain why teams this year play other teams different numbers of times. Do you think that the players on this team do not think their improvement as players and team members are as important? If that is your opinion, you are entitled to it...as I am to mine. Stay safe and be well.

After two full weeks of practice is Louth now in shape and ready to go, should be interesting to see.

The only positive about the new schedule is we have more games and midweek games. During this time of Covid it is welcomed, at least by me.
Just hope we play
On another note I just concluded watching a webinar given by Rockefeller University on the virus and vaccine. It is well done, and if anybody wants to watch, about 90 minutes, I should have a recording tomorrow. Send me a note and I will give you the link. With all of the variants, and if the analysis is close to accurate, we are looking farther out for some sort of normal than our government( both parties) is suggesting.

The final weekend series vs Colgate is TBD for the site - fair enough not to give one school the advantage but wondering what the solution will be

Do you think there is anyone on the team who is excited about the opportunity to play two additional games? I think I would be.

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but if BU couldn't play last weekend due to a positive covid test on the day or the day before the game; how can they play on the 13th & 14th?

Keep in mind that we may only have to beat Colgate (or some other team) once in order to go dancing.
Stranger things have happened.

Do you think there is anyone on the team who is excited about the opportunity to play two additional games? I think I would be. I imagine most of the players would rather play the two extra games than to not play. Note that HC could not have been scheduled vs Army the final weekend, since Army and Boston U had mandatory divisional games to make up.

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but if BU couldn't play last weekend due to a positive covid test on the day or the day before the game; how can they play on the 13th & 14th? The press release when Boston U postponed those games said: "Saturday and Sunday's men's basketball games between Boston University and Colgate have been postponed out of an abundance of caution after a member within the Terriers' Tier 1 exhibited COVID-like symptoms". So two possible reasons for their being OK to play this weekend; (1) the person with the "COVID-like symptoms" ended up testing negative; or (2) after contact tracing, whoever had a positive test, possibly a team manger or trainer, had not been close enough to players to require quarantining.

Do you think there is anyone on the team who is excited about the opportunity to play two additional games? I think I would be.w My argument does not deal with what the players want. It involved making up a new schedule that significantly hinders Holy Cross and not any other team, by adding two games against the best team in the League. I believe that the players want a fair chance to play more games by making the playoffs. please read my words.

But I put the league administrators in the same boat as School Committees, Mayors, Governors, etc., who are all trying to manage through a pandemic and can't come up with a schedule for vaccines or in person school classes or basketball games that is perfectly fair to everyone this year so I don't think HC got screwed in the typical sense.

Convenient that HC and BU are so close that Wednesdays are easy.
With so many games postponed, it's surprising that they added the games instead of using the time at the end for the makeups
