Nice
Going to be hard to crack into this list and keep moving up. Always tough on northeast schools as the Missouri Valley Conference rules FCS right now.

Southern Illinois takes down NDSU, the three-time defending FCS champion, 38-14. They entered the game as 16.5 point underdogs.

3 or 4 top 10 teams went down today along with 1 in the 10s. If this trend continues we *could* see HC enter the top 25 rankings this season providing they handle business.

It would be nice if ESPN carried some of these games on one of its National TV networks. ESPN+ is nice but not as easily accessible.

A certain player who I messaged with on Twitter is very high on how the team has looked this year so far in practice....good to hear.

I think it will be tough to be ranked when the league is playing only 4 games. On the other hand this is the best collection of talent on the Hill in a long time.

In that regard, we can "hope" but, IMHO, we will know the level of talent only after the first game. Have there been any changes on the depth chart? Any word on starting QB in game 1?

Rankings mean squat this year. It's all about having fun and hopefully defending our championship. Of course, should we repeat, it will be fun to see the program shoot for its first ever FCS playoff win.

Hopefully ESPN will see that these games are entertaining and there is a legitimate interest out there beyond ESPN+ viewers. I for one would love the option to watch some games on a Saturday afternoon/evening on one of the ESPN TV networks instead of being overly saturated with college basketball.

^ An FCS game of the week (or 2) concept seems like it would work, and would help promote the FCS playoffs which will fill a big void in viewership after March Madness comes to an end (which ESPN would be in a great position to televise).

ESPN, and the networks, have never hesitated to show ANY football during off seasons. Examples: Arena, XFL, USFL. They are missing the boat if they aren't showing at least some live FCS spring football.
March Madness is exclusive to the CBS Family, including TBS, TNT and TruTv. ESPN shows the Women's NCAA, so whenever these games aren't on, FCS football would seem to be a good option.

I would agree. I have found myself watching football games between two teams that would be on my "who the heck are they" list. Football does sell so there will be FCS games getting coverage if they are plotting this spring.
