Tiger Woods was in a major car accident and had to be extricated from the wreck with the "jaws of life". I've heard no report of specific injuries. Stay tuned and pray that he and others involved were not badly harmed.

Yikes. Not a Tiger fan in any way but you hate to see this happen to anyone. Hope he’s okay.

People are saying ‘he didn’t look right’ last weekend when visiting a PGA tourney that he wasn’t playing in - he has had to overcome obstacles in his life - let’s hope he recovers

The car went off the road and down an embankment. The front of the SUV was pushed into the dashboard, so it appears either he hit something before going off the road, or flew off the road and landed hood first on impact. He is in surgery for multiple leg fractures. He is still recovering from recent back surgery.

Medication ? Certainly possible due to recent surgery. Aside from accident, my first question was why was he driving by himself and where was he going at 7am ? Airpor perhaps ? But if so, no limo ?

This photo makes it seem as if he flew off the road and, airborne, hit the side of a hill.

Not a Tiger fan most of the time, but it is sad to hear some of the things he has had to put-up with or recover from. I wish him well.

Sounds like he was going to some sort of Golf Digest shoot. TMZ said he was speeding from his hotel www.tmz.com/2021/02/23/tiger-woods-car-crash-golf-tournament/This is the interview

Didnt notice any slurring but I thought he looked tired and old. I don’t usually notice such things but it did strike me at the time.

CNN is now covering the flat bed transporting his wreck on the freeway with an overhead helicopter like it was the White Bronco with OJ in the back seat.

He was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed, crossed a median, took down a sign, entered southbound lanes, went off the southbound lanes and into an area of trees and brush, snapping an eight inch diameter tree, before finally coming to a stop. From the median to resting point was a hundred yards or more; there were no skid marks or indication of braking. The passenger compartment was pretty much intact, a tribute to car design (2021 SUV model); the front end was destroyed with the front axle and engine pushed rearward.

Hope Tiger comes out of it ok; sounds like he was very lucky.
Don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I was a little surprised at the non stop coverage of the accident all afternoon (had the tv on in the background while working). It seemed to be on a par (no pun intended) with the terrible Kobe Bryant accident...but that involved multiple fatalities. Not condemning it; it just caught me by surprise a little bit.

You shouldn't be surprised as the networks know that Americans are obsessed with celebrities and Tiger Woods is one of the biggest. Millions of people in the US will tune in to watch self-manufactured celebrities like the Kardashian family members go shopping or out to dinner.
I hope Tiger has a full recovery in the shortest possible time

Look for him on the senior circuit with his followers trailing him there. Americans love a comeback and given the demographics of golf fans, many still think of him as the kid who won the Masters by a dozen strokes. Even many of those who have soured on him (with good reason given his personal life) will likely find a reason to cheer for him if he makes it back from this.

My sense of the Senior Tour is that there’s less security and more fan interaction. Old Tiger wouldn’t like that. Maybe the accident will change his perspective. With Tiger, they’d definitely have a lot more fans at the Senior Tour events than they do today. Hope he recovers fully. Long road ahead.
