If I am reading the standings correctly, HC will either end up in the 5 or 6 seed. If Lehigh wins one of their 2 games against American this weekend, the secure the 4, if they go 0-2 & Navy goes 2-0 vs their is a 2 way tie between HC, Navy & Lehigh. Lehigh has the tie breaker vs HC. HC may have the tie breaker over Navy with their 3-1 record vs Army vs Navy's 2-1. Navy & Lehigh could go the the 4th tie-breaker if Lehigh loses both games vs. American as Navy would be 1/1 vs 2-2. I'm so confused!

A positive in the Navy program forced cancellation of both games this weekend. Both had playoff seeding implications. The league added a Lafayette-Loyola match instead and that has no influence over seeding regardless of outcome. So Holy Cross is officially locked in as a 6 seed and would open at 3 seed American. This is the best possible scenario for the Crusaders. The question is what the league does from here: 1. Bump back the quarterfinals so Navy doesn't have to forfeit it's playoff game as a host and #4 seed? OR 2. Navy forfeits their seed and the league slides everyone up. If they do that, HC goes to Lehigh and then through Bucknell in a semi. We'll see what plan the PL has in mind on Monday. What do you guys/gals think?

If the league chose to ditch the seedings this year and have geography based first round pairings, I wouldn't be crushed. The team that represents the PL in the NCAA should be able to beat all the other league teams in March so which round they face them shouldn't overly matter if it reduces risk of spreading the virus by curbing travel.

I think it's extremely unlikely they will set back the start date to benefit Navy or any other team. However Navy's protocols may allow them to play by March 6th. Depending on when they got the positive test, it may be 10+ days. Also Navy may decide that whoever tested positive wasn't in close enough contact to justify more than a relatively brief period of contact tracing. One way or another, I will be shocked if they don't play - unless there are more positive tests this week. In the unlikely (imo) of Navy not playing, I think they would slide everyone up in the seedings.

I agree with you, Bison 137. Navy is more likely to play than not. But sliding up the seeds might be the way to go if they think Navy could expose their next opponent. Also, eliminates the play in game, which is one less chance fo exposure. Geographical playoff approach is currently not on the table. Moving back the date may still be an option.

Achieving league pre-approved contingency replacement team status in the first year of a rebuild would be a feather in the cap of every player and coach. I assume that would mean losing the PLT final. The only issue would be fitting all that on the Tee Shirt.🙂

In Lafayette's final game loss to BU on Sunday, Natalie Kukowski (POY) passed Lauren Manis as the all-time league rebounding leader with 1,197 (Lauren finished with 1,188) Records are made to be broken but was hoping it would last more than one year (the pandemic cost Lauren at least one more game in her career which surely would have preserved her no.1 spot))

The pandemic probably caused Natalie to lose more than a few games also.

I hate to correct 'hoops' but I have to - if you recall the reason HC was waiting at play at Bucknell in the semis last March was that HC had ended the 'pards season in the quarters in a game at HC, so their season was over.

I agree of course that Natalie was robbed of many games this season - she had an incredible career and deserved more W's for sure

Well, it is a shame HC didn't get American, BU up 42-23 at the half. AU really doesn't look very good.

BU cruises to a 72-51 win. Upset brewing as Lehigh leads Bucknell 41-31 half way thru the 3rd period That really won't be an upset given the covid circumstances. Bucknell has played one game in six weeks, has had only a handful of practices, and has two key players still recovering from it.

Down go the COVID Bison - Lehigh 63-54. the pandemic claims the leagues' best team - Bucknell looked gassed in the 2nd half - shot poorly.

I will pick Lehigh after their performances against us. The Mountain Hawks should start practicing in masks tomorrow.

Just wear them like BU & HCs men did; meaning, not really at all.

Wearing them on your chin will be just fine - this BU rule has been the biggest joke of the season - very few wore them correctly and I’m waiting for the report from BU on the number of positives resulting from the relaxed standard

Unbelievable how many posters continue to be focused on masks. Move to Idaho and join the others who are burning them.

My thing is just wear them correctly (no matter the place just like Kevin Durant on the sidelines with it bellow his noose in the Celtics game tonight).....It didn't hurt BU's performance as they are hosting the conference final on Sunday.
