I would be very surprised if UNCC has five players better than Austin. Hope he has a great year.

Hope it's a good year for AB.
I thought exhibitions against other D-1 schools were supposed to be closed scrimmages?

As I understand it, scrimmages and exhibitions are two very different things.
A scrimmage (no matter who the opponent is) is closed and a secret An exhibition (again, no matter who the opponent is) can be open to the public

Kentucky has exhibition games against Kentucky Wesleyan and Miles College and should draw 19,500 fanes for each game. I don't know the details but I'll bet UK sends a nice check to both schools while generating revenue of $375,000 for each game.

I understand the distinction between the scrimmages and exhibitions. I just had the (apparently mistaken) impression that if the participants were 2 D-1 teams, then it had to be a closed door scrimmage. I can't recall a previous exhibition game (open to the public) between 2 D-1 teams, although I'm sure there must be other examples.
Seems strange to see AB in another uniform, just like it did with RJ.

One more thought on this great Crusader-- how about when this season ends and he has no more oblicagtions to any basketball team, he joins the Charlotte baseball team? Some will recall that he was an outstanding pitcher in HS

Did someone, other than you, say that it was? I don't think so. Is it your belief that any Holy Cross graduate playing on such a team would make it a joke? I hope not.
I seem to remember he was an outstanding javelin thrower in high school. Did he also play baseball?

Charlotte's team record for the javelin throw is 215-4. Austin threw 198 feet in high school. I'm calling the Charlotte AD now-will let you know what we decide

Saying someone that hasn't picked up a baseball competitively can walk on a baseball team and contribute means you think the team is a joke. They have a better facility for baseball than Holy Cross ranked 24th in the country charlotte49ers.com/sports/2016/7/25/welcome-to-robert-and-mariam-hayes-stadium.aspx?id=1660

You seem to take your assumptions as if they were fact. Actually, you appear to have no evidence for your comment other than your anti-HC bias. Just for the record, I don't know anyone who thinks that Charlotte baseball is a joke. I also don't know anyone who rates the state of a baseball team by the quality of its stadium as you seem to. As college fields go, Fitton is certainly better than average. OK, your statements do show you think that if Austin made the team then the team would be a joke. Sad, but not unexpected.

Charlotte ONLY went 40-21 and 24-8 last year in a decent baseball conference to get an AT LARGE berth.

Nice to make all these plans for Austin, but it is a tall order for someone who hasn't played an inning in years (or thrown a javelin) to jump right in and compete at a level with those who have been working at their craft for the last five years
