Few quick notes from today's webinar with ADMB and HCBC, and CD and GH representing the team.
>Game at Lehigh is still on. No visiting team fans
>PL allowing individual schools to decide on fans. ADMB thinks HC will allow limited fans, details to be worked out. Announcement to come.
> Six seniors returning for the fall. Eleven other players have a fifth year eligibility at HC.
> Improvements to Fitton from a fan experience standpoint this fall. Revealed around April. No details, but a night game is one of my guesses.
> No direct question on the 11th opponent, so was not answered.

Thanks Pakachoag Phreek. The 6 seniors returning for the Fall I don't get. Right now with the Seniors leaving and the 18 Frosh coming in they have 1 roster spot remaining. So if 6 Seniors are coming back for the Fall to me that means they are currently 5 people over the allotted amount of 90 roster spots.
I've heard no news on Roster spots being expanded in the PL or anywhere for that matter.

I'll add that the strategic plan for the AD, and I assume the larger strategic plan for HC writ large, will be finalized in about four weeks. The plan apparently calls for improvements to Fr. K. field and Fitton Field. While not for this coming fall, new locker rooms for Fitton are apparently in the strategic plan. Would not surprise me if a video board is also in the strategic plan. Goal for football is to reach at least the third round of FCS playoffs. Football camp over the summer. Not yet a done deal but working on it. Noted that the Ivies are announcing summer camps, so HC announcement will be soon, so prospects can make plans. Grant Holloman said he decided to attend HC because Kalif Raymond had gone to HC and Kalif was a friend of his family.

HCBC said that the returning seniors and the potential for future 'fifth year' returnees in 2022, PLUS the transfer portal, requires a lot of strategic thinking. And he elaborated that this strategic thinking was going on everywhere at the Div I level. HCBC also said that no HC football players had opted out.

ADMB said there were four or five HC teams who were paused because of positive COVID cases on the team. If its four, that's men's basketball, men's ice hockey, baseball, softball.
He said the pause which ends Monday evening, was to break the contact chain; i.e., if a player who tests positive was practicing with the team, and was in close contact with other members of the team, then those other team members are quarantined. Without close contact at practice through Monday, then the need for future quarantine is much reduced.

Coach Chesney also stated that if you go overboard on returning players and transfers in lieu of recruiting HS seniors, there could be a price to pay down the line.
Also, I must admit that when ADMB was talking about the fan experience and an announcement to be made in April/May, I immediately thought of the possibility of a night game.
There was also mention that the absence of a guarantee game this year (presumably referring to the Boston College game that was cancelled) has had some financial impact.
Coach Chesney also indicated that there are still plans (subject to change) to have a football golf outing in June.

I also listened in. It was very informative and very upbeat. The banter between Holloman and Degenhardt was fun. When fan improvements were discussed, my mind went to selling beer !

When will they be announcing fans and what fans will be allowed In a week or so. Marcus Blossom said that fans might be initially limited to students and family. Lehigh is giving each team member two family tickets for its opening game against HC. And no tickets for fans of Holy Cross. Other schools may be following this approach.

As of today, no fans per the state
Effective March 22, the state says fans are allowed, but capacity capped at 12 percent. At that point the school can decide what they want to do up to that 12 percent number. I think it will come down to whether or not the school wants outsiders on the campus
