After an unfortunate hiatus last year, it's time to fire up the 2021 Coronavirus edition of our Bracket Challenge (masks are optional). For new participants, and wily veterans who may have forgotten how it works (I had to do some memory refreshing research), it's an NCAA Tournament contest for all Crossports posters - and I suppose anyone posters want to invite in. It's free to participate and prizes are commensurate with the entry fee.
Go to the ESPN website and find Men's Tournament Challenge. You should be able to find it under the Fantasy heading.
Click on Join A Group. Our group name is Patriot League Cohorts. The password is plhoops.
Create a bracket before the deadline. Let's try to limit it to one bracket per person - OK two if you want.
Check in frequently to the ESPN site as we enjoy the excitement of the games and the progress of our individual brackets.
After the Championship game we'll have a grand prize winner. As I mentioned earlier, there's no actual monetary prize; but the winner will be forever enshrined in our memories as a great game predictor. Who can forget our tight 2019 contest with HC16 claiming his crown with an incredibly close victory over alum. I have momentarily forgotten previous winners but am working at trying to resurrect their past glory.
LET THE MADNESS BEGIN!

Got it.
The trick is the bracket had to be filled out before it gives you an option to put in a password

Got it. The trick is the bracket had to be filled out before it gives you an option to put in a password I put in a the password, but it says it is incorrect..Yet the status is "complete"......I never got to put in a screen name.........AHHHHHHH!!! Maybe I'll try another bracket and see what happens!

I'm in.
Simple steps -- if you have an ESPN username already:
1) Go to ESPN bracket challenge 2) Fill out the bracket 3) Click join group 4) Type in "Patriot League Cohorts" 5) Type in the password "plhoops"

The ESPN Tournament Challenge just seems to be working differently than previous years. I'm having trouble starting a bracket, picking a few teams, and then coming back to it later. My earlier picks are gone! As posted previously the password is plhoops. Still plenty of room in the pool. Come on in and join the fun!

Yes, you have have to fill out a bracket completely before entering that bracket into a group
I had to search around for a bit to get last year's name. There were two different places to edit your name. Prior to that I had ESPN and some number

I set up a competition for our family group chat. I did it from my laptop using the browser, not the app. Nobody using the app could find it listed. I also have learned that my wife, kids and siblings don't read all of the texts I send as I have had to repeat the advice to use the browser several times. (Waiting for someone here to say they don't read my posts, either.)

Then you can go back to it and make edits.

How do I make edits? I want to give my bracket a name other than ESPN.

I think that once you’ve completed and submitted a bracket, you can then go back and make edits on your picks and, I assume, the bracket name. ESPN really effed this up this year.

I decided I probably should join as the two year reigning champion (yes, yes I know it was just one season, shhhhhh). As others have said, this season is such a crapshoot I had no ideas beyond a RAG when picking most of these games. Work and life conspiring to prevent me from watching many games beyond HC plus a lack of time to consult my secret resources (sneakily closes kenpom) means I'll be happy with just a top half finish. Heck, I picked Gonzaga to win mainly due to the Jesuit connection and because it's one of two schools in the field who's campus I've actually visited. Thank you to the 2015-16 HC basketball team! Of course, should I place or win, it's all due to my superior understanding of the college game and unique genius . In all seriousness though, I'm just glad we have a tournament and I'm hoping we get some great games.

After the first round of 31 actual games and 1 “uncontested” game that included some stunners and a couple ho-hummers, we have a tie in the Crossports Bracket Challenge. Sitting at a lofty 92 percentile are HCNATION and BPOB55 barely ahead of espnfan296 (you know who you are) with several others lurking in the weeds, as we head into the Round of 32. It’s still anyone’s ball game - well, almost anyone’s. Good luck in the next round!

I have Illinois winning it all in our bracket. It might not have been over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, but with all my horrible picks, this bracket challenge is over for me

Since my bracket busted I’ve heard that some of the talking sports heads were saying after selection Sunday that Loyola should have been a 3 or 4 seed. I certainly believe it after today.
