One Alabama guy was 2-7; his shot looked so terrible that it was astounding that his ft percentage for the season was 73%. And he was the SEC POY!

I don't know if you East Coast guys are excited, but this afternoon's Gonzaga - USC matchup should be a real doozy!

USC has some size and length that could be a problem for the Zags, but the Zags have so many answers

Gonzaga is as good a passing team as I have seen in over 60 years. I think I would have to go back to the UCLA championship teams of the 60s and 70s to be their equal. Because they are so skilled and unselfish, they are as enjoyable to watch as any team I can remember. Besides RW’s HC teams of course and GB’s Potter-Vicens-Perry teams also.

I agree, 'hoops-- Gonzaga such an unselfish team. Very confident 1-5 on the floor in getting into triple threat stance, and quickly/confidently moving the ball around. Lots of motion. The potato stays "hot" and it clearly works. 30-0 I think now?

Their D really seems to be taking it up a notch too; Timme at 6-10 was creating havoc out on the perimeter, even stripped their pg for a layup early.
Would be interesting to see what would happen if they were to get down early, and had to play from behind (think West Virginia early in the season was their only close game). Thinking back to the 1990-91 UNLV Runnin Rebels.

One of those steals was so smooth the the player headed to the hoop was stripped but kept moving toward the basket even as the ball was heading the other way.

It is refreshing and enjoyable to watch an offense with unselfish players who pass with precision and have constant off-ball movement. While they are fortunate enough to have so many talented players who make their execution level possible, it is fun to watch! Unfortunately, we see so many high school and college teams run high post weaves and isolation plays so a player can go 1 v 1 with most teammates watching,

Gonzaga’s unselfish passing reminds me of the recent championship Warrior teams

Thinking back to the 1990-91 UNLV Runnin Rebels. Seems to be what happened to Michigan last night. They got completely out of their game once they were a few points behind. Never got back in sync offensively. Also, with all those big guys, they managed to get to the line all of 11 times (and missed 5 of those).

Hoops you shared exactly what I had been thinking as I watched Gonzaga. In fact I was imagining a mythical game between the Zags and one of theWooden championship teams (Five fingers on a hand, the early Goodrich/Hazzard team through the 60's). Thought of those great Warrior teams, too.The Zags play wonderfully sound team basketball. Basketball can be one of the most beautiful and enjoyable team sports to watch. Some call soccer the beautiful game, too. (Not enough scoring for me but I can appreciate the beauty of the movement & positioning on the field.) It feels great to watch these Zags.

Gonzaga’s unselfish passing reminds me of the recent championship Warrior teams I enjoyed watching the Warriors when Curry arrived, especially their passing and defense. I had similar feelings watching Gonzaga's play. Putting the team first and playing as a unit is, IMHO, the best sort of basketball.

It's just amazing to me how Mark Few has grown the program over the years. At the very beginning it was pretty much just utilizing hungry overachievers. Then they started to mix in some transfers ala Colgate, combined them with international players; and now he gets some blue chippers as well.....all while doing things the right way (at least seemingly).
With apologies to those who might have money elsewhere - it would be a shame if they can't finish the job.

And then there were Four! The Elite 8 provided us with three competitive games and an exhibition of basketball greatness. I've liked UCLA's toughness in their past couple games, but they'll be just another Gonzaga casualty come Saturday night. HCNATION has widened his lead in our bracket competition and I'm guessing that it'll be either him or CMo emerging as the final winner. It's this time of the tournament where most of us are left looking back at our brackets and sadly shaking our heads. Get ready for the Wild West Final Four!

Gonzaga's offense is a thing of beauty to watch five players in constant motion creating quality shots on almost every possession. While their offense gets the headlines, their defense is also way above average. It must be nice to be able to switch on every pick and have five players who are capable of guarding any position on the floor. Suggs and Nembhard have made a very good team a great team. Suggs is a truly special player who is going to be great at the next level. It will be fun to see Suggs going up against Juzang in the next game. For UCLA's sake they better hope that they get better games out of everyone not named Juzang or Campbell as the rest of the team couldn't throw the ball in the ocean against Michigan.
