My prediction: there won't be an FCS playoff this Spring...hypothetical, do you really see HC being allowed to fly to Weber St or North Dakota St in early May? I think the NCAA initially said there'd be a Spring playoff as a sort of "carrot and sticks" to get schools on board but I can easily see them pulling the rug out in a month or so...I've been wrong before ....we shall see. I would say there is a better chance of HC flying to North Dakota on the Patriots plane than TPTB pulling the plug and dropping out of the playoffs. If there is an uncontrolled virus breakout on the team that will make the decision but other than that why drop out?

Anyone else starting to think we should just use whatevah is left of the Spring season as more of 'tune-up" for the Fall? Start looking at all the QBs, mixing it up at other positions, put some new wrinkles in the playbook etc? I think that's the way to go here....this Spring season has asterisk written all ovah it. Nope

No go long and deep into postseason. Keep playing time a meritocracy. I have a hard time seeing a full playoff happening...do you really see all these teams flying all ovah the country in April? I mean the men's hoop tourney is limited to Indianapolis in March. Even pre-COVID, the FCS playoff tournament is bracketed very regionally.

Fordham was out practicing on March 11 and 12 But Rose Hill's positive test rate for the past 14 days was 3.3 percent. That is about 2.5 times higher than the city of Worcester's positive test rate.

Nothing has been posted on either school's website. Nothing on the PL website.

Nothing has been posted on either school's website. Nothing on the PL website. As of 730am this morning still nothing. I've driven by Rams practice several times the past 2 weeks and all has appeared normal....

Could this simply be a rumor?

Let me get this straight — one positive test that could have been a team manager has caused the postponement of a game even though it’s possible that 200+ other people may have tested negative.
What are we doing here?
Isolate the person who tested positive and move on.
Eventually we will get to the point where one positive test doesn’t cause a total shutdown. I thought we would have already been at that point by now. Oh well.

I thought we would have already been at that point by now. Oh well. I don't think that is the rule. As you may have heard, Geno Auriemma tested positive. UConn women are still playing. From the Courant: Through contact tracing, the school did not deem that any other member of the team had been in close contact with Auriemma since Friday. All Tier I personnel — which includes players, coaches and athletic trainers — have tested negative for COVID-19. ”After we received notification of the positive test result yesterday, we initiated contact tracing protocols, which included interviewing individual members of the basketball program and in-depth video analysis of practice,” director of sports medicine and head team physician Deena Casiero said in a statement. “Only household close contacts were identified. Given the fact that we have been doing daily testing for the past seven days, we feel confident that we were able to catch this very early on in the disease process. The remainder of Tier I tested negative yesterday and today.”If UConn continues to test daily and a player tests positive, this could change everything.
I think that is unmasked close proximity contact that counts.

Could this simply be a rumor? I am beginning to think it is. The Fordham athletics twitter feed had tweets yesterday about the women's hoops team playing in the NIT next week and men's soccer team hosting a match this week.. No indication that Fordham athletics is shut down.

Trevor Lawrence tested positive, Clemson still played its scheduled games with backup QBs, including an HC recruit who de-committed.

Given the usual ruderless ineptness of the suits in Center Valley, what could one expect? It's extremely surprising the pL is even attempting to play a spring sked.

I think it’s at least possible that the PL is taking a more conservative approach to playing football games in the Spring than the ACC and SEC might have in the Fall.

So Fordham / Bucknell is cancelled?
IIRC, NCAA requires a minimum of two weeks of practice after a pause, before game competition. If Fordham only started practicing March 10th or so (based on the Twitter images) two weeks would not have transpired before Saturday's game.

W/what was posted last week, some folks can attend; don't think that was the case if the game was Saturday.
Also, should be at Fitton unless there is an out-of-season weather event before that.

From this afternoon's Telegram:
Holy Cross football home opener postponed
Crusaders game slated for Saturday is moved because of COVID issues with Rams
Jennifer Toland
Telegram & Gazette
Holy Cross football coach Bob Chesney and the Crusaders will have to wait a little bit longer for their home opener this spring.
WORCESTER — The Holy Cross football team opened the 2021 spring season with a 20-3 win at Lehigh, and the Crusaders were looking forward to building off that victory Saturday in their first game at Fitton Field since Nov. 23, 2019. HC, however, will have to wait an extra week to play its next game, and two more weeks to play its home opener. The Crusaders were set to host Fordham at 1 p.m. Saturday, but the game has been postponed until April 10 due to COVID-19 return-to-play protocols following the Fordham football program’s recent pause. Last week, the Rams’ opener against Bucknell was also postponed. Kickoff time for the April 10 Fordham-Holy Cross game will be announced at a later date. HC’s next scheduled game is March 27 at Colgate, and the home opener against Bucknell is slated for April 3 . “You would like to get back out there this weekend,” Holy Cross coach Bob Chesney said Tuesday. “We’re going to continue to take this day by day, and the only thing we know is what we know at this exact second.” The Holy Cross defense held Lehigh to eight first downs and 137 yards. The Mountain Hawks’ three points were the fewest scored by a HC opponent in a season opener since the Crusaders posted a 19-0 victory over Rhode Island on Sept. 15, 1984. HC overcame two early turnovers, and senior quarterback Connor Degenhardt threw two touchdown passes. Junior Derek Ng connected on a school-record 51-yard field goal in the third quarter. “From Week 1 to Week 2, the most significant changes are made on a team for the positive,” Chesney said, “but now we actually have two weeks here before our second game. I actually kind of like that model at this exact moment because it gives us two weeks to really tighten up some of the situational football, tighten up some of the things we know we need to do, and figure out a way to get different guys into the games at different points in time. "With all of that now, there isn’t as much pressure that that has to be done by this weekend. It gives us time to make strides in corrections and putting players in some challenging situations and see how they react.”

If one more team gets left at the alter by Wed. or Thurs. perhaps that team and HC can play on Saturday or Sunday. Not ideal but it might help loosen logjams for the whole league going forward.
