I am wondering why if the other schools follow the same protocol(s) a non-leaguer within bus ride distance could not have been arranged on 3/13 as there were other teams "sitting on the bench" as well.

UNH and Nova was ppd yesterday due to COVID within the UNH program. I thought about that issue. The risk of, let's say, playing Nova on Sunday (obviously an attractive match in general) is the game could generate virus transmission which puts completing the league season and making the NCAA tournament at risk. League games carry transmission risk, too but at least they get HC one step closer to the post season.

Scrap the championship game and let everybody play an extra game. Put the team with the best record in. Like you do every other year!

So, piecing this together...Lehigh and Colgate are definitely out for 3/27 correct?
We could play Fordham, Bucknell and Lafayette (who we weren't scheduled to play) on 3/27.
Our schedule is still listed as:
Mar 27 Open Apr 3 Bucknell Apr 10 Fordham
My brain hurts....

Agreed. Lafayette just announced they are playing @ Bucknell on Saturday. This would open up the Bison to play @ HC on April 3. Fingers-crossed, as this remains an extremely fluid situation. Until COVID testing is completed at the end of each week, nothing is a guarantee.

^ If I was a betting man, I would say no. The PL COVID protocols are simply too restrictive to enable any more games in in my opinion.

It appears that a very sage poster suggested this very thing last Wednesday.
Hmmm, whom could that possibly have been?

A peek at the PL composite football schedule shows the championship game on 4/17 with Lehigh as the visitor.
Of course, in true PL style, virtually nothing has been updated since the two games on 3/13.

OK, Saturday's kickoff is creeping closer. Massey has HC as a 7 point favorite (27-20) and gives HC a 74% chance for the win. I am not sure how Fordham got two votes to be league champs. They have a good junior QB. The HC defensive backs will be tested.

Have the game "penciled" in on my calendar. So, if one person tests positive (managers and admin included) the game is off? haha.

Here is the email that was just sent out by the Athletic Dept.
Good afternoon,
I hope this email finds all of you well and excited to come back to Fitton Field. On behalf of the Athletic Department, we are excited to welcome you back to campus and look forward to your support as we take on Fordham followed by Bucknell. In preparation for your trip to campus for the game this Saturday and next Saturday, I wanted to provide some important information to note: All student-athletes will be permitted to allocate 2 tickets for friends/family members to attend. Name, relationship to student-athlete, cell phone number, and email must be completed. Parking will be available in the Hogan Campus Center/Luth Athletic Complex parking lot (Attached map to this email providing walkways to access Fitton Field) Tailgating will be strictly prohibited Gates will open 60 minutes prior to kick off Gate D (Gate closest to Freshman Field - Opposite end of scoreboard) - Will be the check in location for those on the student-athlete/coach/staff pass list We would encourage all attendees to utilize walkway path # 2 to access Gate D. There will be no-entry allowed into the stadium once you have exited Designated seating sections will be identified as follows for those who are on the pass list (Seats will be marked and will be socially distant): Home Team Seating Sections Sections: 4, 5, 6 & 7 Food/drink will not be available for purchase - Please be sure to prepare in advance. Bottled water/soda will be permitted to be brought in Universal mask policy will be strictly enforced There will be no-entry allowed into the stadium once you have exited Postgame - Student-athletes and family members must maintain a 30 foot distance. This is to help ensure the program's health and safety. We would ask that all fans safely exit the stadium following the conclusion of the game and make their way to their vehicles. We appreciate your cooperation in complying with all of the expectations above. While I understand there are a lot of protocols that must be followed, we cannot express enough how excited we are to welcome you back to Fitton. We certainly appreciate your support.
Please be ready to be loud to support our team.
Go Cross Go!!!
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
Thank you, Nick

Parents should be able to walk back up the hill to their car in the Luth Parking lot. Grandparents may need a fireman's carry.

Have the game "penciled" in on my calendar. So, if one person tests positive (managers and admin included) the game is off? haha. Yes, so instead of an outdoor game of football which carries essentially 0 risk of transmission, the college kids can do something else. To double down on the inanity, the spectators who were going to sit in the outdoor stands (also at essentially 0 risk of transmission) can themselves do something else.
