Just saw that Santi is listed as #41(ahead of Garza, Wieskamp, etc) in a respected mock draft in The Athletic. Presume he will have some choices: transfer, Spanish pro league, NBA.

I wish him well as he travels. Hopefully he stays in the PL for at least one more year. We need the league to be as strong as possible.

Him leaving helps our chances of winning the league next year. I know there’s a rising tide lifts all boats idea out there but our league is what it is subject to minor variations in performance from year to year. We’re not getting better recruits, better tv exposure, better ticket sales or anything else if Loyola or any other league opponent is a little better next year. Lehigh beat Duke in the NCAA tourney led by a guy who is now a star in the NBA. Didn’t change the league’s fortunes. Didn’t change our fortunes. Heck, it didn’t even change Lehigh’s fortunes.

Probably true, in the same vein as a couple of guys going to HBCUs this year is not going to raise their level very much either.

The big difference there is the media love to hype good athletes of color going to HCBUs and say it is the start of a trend. That keeps the story in the headlines and continues to promote recruiting for HBCUs.
