Loyola of Chicago vs Illinois should be an interesting second round matchup on Sunday.

On whose side is God...Illinois or Sister Jean? Remember, if God is with us, who can be against us? I am pulling for Loyola and Sister Jean.

Holy Cross needs a Sister Jean. Any priests at HC that follow the basketball team like her?

Francis J. Hart, SJ

As great as they were, I don’t think Fr. K or Fr. Hart can fill the Sister Jean role in 2021 and beyond.

Fr. Rogers (HC '02) took the role as Chaplain for athletics when Fr. K stepped down. Don't know if he traveled with the BB team, but know he was at the end of the bench for home games for a couple of years when he was in the Chaplains office. He left to pursue his PhD at the University of Toronto a few years ago. Perhaps he'll be back some day and will resume the role and hold it for many years.

Hope Fr. Rogers does return. Would be great to have him back on Mt. St. James.

Nantz and Rafferty mentioned Grandison from Holy Cross. Said what he averaged for the Crusaders.

Its amazing to me how even when Illinois things they have an open shot. Loyola is right on them with a hand in their face. Coaches should take notes on their defense. It's suffocating and the players fly around!

Illinois message board wasn't too worried about loyola, or krutwig. Imagine they are a little nervous now.

There are several teams in the tournament that sponsor the minimum number of men’s sports at six. Loyola is one of them. Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, Volleyball,Track and Field. No helmet sports.
Creighton is another. Can anyone name the others?

Great gameplan and execution kudos to the coaching staff. This team is going to be a tough out they will not beat themselves.

Grandison: 16 mins, 1 FG attempt (a made 3), and 3 turnovers (all telegraphed passes that were easily intercepted).
Looked more like the inconsistent player he was at HC, floating in and out of games, than a Big10 starter, IMHO.

Fun game to watch. Grandison wasn’t great today, but overall it was fun to see him turn into a big part of that team.

Grandison's a role player, he's not supposed to win the games and he was the least of their problems, Dosunmu and Frazier were brutal. Illinois coaching staff made no adjustments, Dosunmu got blitzed every time he got the ball and they never figured out a way to counter, maybe could have tried to post him or run off screens.
