What a disaster. As this useless league holds HC back again. Along with some of these other teams who could care less. Should have started the season earlier. Let them play 3 games and then try to win an FCS playoff game against teams that have played 8 games. This is ridiculous. There pods didn't work for basketball and they never learn! Agree that this is all very frustrating. Let’s hope we win the PL title again and get at least one more game during this crazy season. I am hearing that the team is batting several injuries, likely due to the lack of a full preseason camp. Several underclassmen will be moving up on the depth charts and getting some valuable experience heading into next season.

you say "5PM kickoff @ Colgate next Sat. Team might travel on Sat. morning and stay in Hamilton after game" do you want to lose the game with such a thought ? of course we'll travel on Friday evening and return after the game - you rest before the game, not after !.

I don’t disagree with you. However, Chesney said during an earlier Zoom call that the Colgate game was originally slated as a same day travel game and the team needs to get some sort of permission to treat it as an overnight stay. The 5PM kickoff time seems somewhat odd to me, unless there is perhaps an alternative travel plan.

I don't think the night bus ride home is an issue because the game will be over before an evening BB game would be over. I agree with Haze about when to prioritize the rest. I wonder why the 5pm start? It can't be to draw more fans.

Can Holy Cross afford to hire second bus drivers for each bus so they can travel same day throughout?

Thanks bfoles- so glad the world has you on that wall.

This 5 PM time is similar to men's lacrosse game against Colgate. As I understand it, that time was requested by HC who were awaiting COIVID test results taken on Friday.
For the game at Lehigh, HC used four buses. I assume they will use the same number again; the buses are being utilized at half capacity or less. Also, if lodging (and dining) is not available close by Hamilton, that becomes another consideration.

I was thinking if HC travels on Friday and returns on Saturday the bus drivers will have only one trip per day...unless driving from the hotel to Andy Kerr Stadium before the game throws things off. Perhaps send one spare driver and have him (or her) shuttle each bus to the field so the four regular drivers do no driving until after the game.

I have it on good authority that in order to save money the four busses will be chained together so that only a single driver, a low-paid trainee, will be needed.

A full page on bus schedules and travel arrangements is a bit excessive, even for this board.

The team will stay over on Friday night before next weeks Colgate game. 5pm start because of a minor sport scheduled to be played on the football field earlier in the day.

What part of "minor" does that sport misunderstand?😄 Fair is fair, the minor sport scheduled first, but Fitton will be free at 1PM so it's a shame to go so far to be second fiddle.

The big problem is the Patriot League.

Understand the Patriot League is weaving a "Spring" football game and overall football schedule between other Spring minor sports that have already been scheduled for awhile. As for a 1pm opening at Fitton Field let's not forget that this game against Colgate is a make up game that we were supposed to have played at Colgate in March. Also Colgate is in our "Division" so they are trying to at least come up with winners in each division in order to have a legitimate Championship game. I'll give the Patriot League some credit for trying to wade through all of this Covid mess.

FYI - At the moment, Colgate’s policy is that spectators are not allowed at any of their games. I hope this changes. Wasn’t NY one of the first states in the Northeast to allow limited capacity at outdoor stadiums?

Believe entrants needed proof of vaccine or a negative test.

This is Colgate's policy on visitors on campus at its present alert status (Gate 4). Colgate athletics appears to have made a decision to not allow spectators at any sporting contest during the spring semester, and is sticking to it. A reason for this is that Colgate does not test anywhere near the same frequency that Holy Cross tests.

^ Such a disappointing position. In a stadium of 10,000+ Colgate can’t admit approx. 150 HC parents/family of players and coaches? If that is truly unmanageable for them, the PL should tell them that they are not hosting any home games.

It's ludicrous---it's okay to put 100's of people in a Kroger or Target or Wal-Mart but not okay to put 1,000 in a much higher capacity outside venue?
