You are naive when you equate men’s and women’s bball at the PL level

Guilty as charged. After watching the men lose their best player, Joe P. I was was very pleased to see the best women's player A.L. stay along with the other players. I give Coach Magarity credit for that whether conventional wisdom says she deserves it or not.
To be fair, Coach Nelson deserves credit for not losing anyone this year. What's interesting is that despite ten or so departed players and getting to pick their replacements, I don't think the men will be picked to finish much higher than the women next year.

Why would the departure of players from two seasons back have an impact on next year?

Why would the departure of players from two seasons back have an impact on next year? I am comparing two approaches. One with the men which was mass transfers out of student athletes after a coaching change and the other with the women of no transfers out of Holy Cross after a coaching change, with player replacement happening the old fashioned way. I thought the latter was uncomfortable to see as a fan and alumnus and made me think of the excesses of big time basketball. I wondered if there would be a corresponding benefit but so far I haven't seen it as far as game results go.

I share some of those feelings, but I believe I have seen a sharp increase in the overall talent of the players on the men's team. I believe the coming season will reveal a lot about players, coaches and the program. The se noirs that the women .ost a year ago were quite a group and certainly not easy to replace. However, I think the women have done a good job and I believe both teams will be better next year...not as good as they will eventually be (perhaps) but better,
