Shaughnessy is a known Red Sox hater. Hard to take him seriously. But he isn't wrong....both teams have had major cheating scandals including the Red Sox manager with MULTIPLE scandals including one with the Red Sox replay room

I received an email from the Red Sox reminding me that ALCS tickets go on sale this morning. I had no intention of trying to go to a weeknight game (Sox home games are Mon, Tues, and Wed.) but I was curious about the prices and looked. I paid $86 for upper right field grandstands for the ALDS. Those tickets are now $167 and will be $301 if they make the World Series. SRO tickets are $151 for the Series. www.mlb.com/redsox/tickets/postseason/pricingI am assuming that these prices are what the market will bear.

The best way to attend a Yankee game is via someone else's season tickets. My brother's company had Legends seats at first base. It's like the Seinfeld episode of flying first class. You can't go back to coach.

I understand our Yankees are giving away free tickets to the Stadium for the rest of this year's playoffs.

I watched that third strike call a number of times. It appears to clearly be a checked swing (his bat was never over the plate as can be seen from the side camera). IMHO the call was terrible. What an awful way to lose after a great season.

Not as visible since it wasn't the last play, and the Yankees were a far worse team over the course of the year than the Giants, so not as deserving... but there were about 3 or 4 similar check-swing Ks that were called against the Yankees in the Wild Card game up at Fenway that were absolutely horrible. No excuse why the Yankees lost-- their offense is dog doo doo-- but the umps have been horrible.

Would much prefer the Would Have Been A Green Line Series (Sox vs Braves) to a Cheating Revenge Series (AstrosDodgers) ...yes the Dodgers would piss and moan about 2018 because of Cora, but not nearly so much as vs the 'stros.
If the matchup is the former, all we have to put up with is the tomahawk chop and silly references to "28-3".

You would prefer Sox v. Braves; then you describe how annoying it will be. If it's Sox v. anyone, I will be happy.

There was no use of electronic equipment to steal signs during the 2018 World Series

The Dodgers losing would be a MASSIVE upset for what, on paper, is one of the most dominant teams in a while-- a video game/fantasy roster-type team. I think that for those who use the historical baseball lens, may have a compounding effect of further diminishing their championship last year during the pandemic-shortened season.
The Astros are not as dominant as they have been, but no one would have expected the Sox to do this well at the start of the season-- even into the playoffs. I think situations like this more than any other in the game, demonstrate the value of a good manager. Alex Cora is clearly that. He'd have his team jump out of a plane and they'd do it and figure it out on the way down.

Your point about the Dodgers is somewhat valid, except they did finish behind the Giants, albeit with 106 wins, even after adding Scherzer and Trea Turner in the steal of the century

Hard to imagine that there were 3 teams with 100+ wins this season and there is a distinct possibility that none of them will win the pennant

Sox "break even" on Mookie Betts. They finish the season in the LCS just like the Dodgers but without having to pay Mookie's salary.
