Fingers crossed it occurs. Ditto. It’s disappointing that Colgate probably won’t allow any visitor spectators for Saturday’s game, even though most schools have already changed their positions and now allow a very limited number of parents/family members to attend. As one poster noted, there was no “super-spreader” event when HC allowed fans into the Fordham game.

It doesn't take a Superspreader, all it takes is one.

While I fully expect a Home-Championship-Game clinching win this weekend, I find it painful to try to interpret all of the various tie-breaking and other possibilities regarding who gets what with a win, etc., etc.
Maybe someone with a younger brain or more powerful IT/AI capabilities can answer: Is there a scenario, should the unthinkable occur and the Crusaders stub their collective toes, whereby our lads could still be on the gridiron next Saturday?

My best understanding is that if Colgate wins, Fordham wins the division and plays in the PLC game because they beat Colgate by 20+ and HC beat Fordham by 10.

Hearing rumors that Colgate game might be canceled.

^ Confirmed by a reliable source. Apparently Colgate had a player on one of their buses that traveled to Fordham test positive for COVID. They need to quarantine the entire bus. As a result, they don’t have sufficient bodies to play on Sat. HC is now in a holding pattern with a potential game this weekend against another opponent uncertain at the moment.

In order to meet the FCS minimum 4 game playoff qualification, we need to play someone this week.

This is almost unreal. Of course the minimum number of games is not exactly a firm number as Ohio State's situation showed earlier this academic year.

In order to meet the FCS minimum 4 game playoff qualification, we need to play someone this week. Probably why there is talk about possibly playing Bucknell this weekend. Maybe the league is aware of our predicament and wants to avoid the PL Champ being disqualified from the playoffs. I think that game would be at HC since Bucknell is scheduled to travel this week (@ Fordham), and if we win the PL Championship would be the following week at HC vs. Bucknell again. Not ideal, but it solves the potential problem. I’m hearing that Lafayette is also an outside possibility if Lehigh’s injury status prevents them from playing this week.

^ I believe Lehigh only had 6 healthy OL at the conclusion of of their game this weekend, which is 1 fewer than the minimum allotment which I believe is required.

^ I think FBS rules require that teams must have a minimum of 53 players cleared to play at kickoff, including 7 offensive linemen, 4 interior defensive linemen and 1 quarterback, or it is deemed a forfeit. Not sure if FCS follows the same rules.

Make a defensive lineman a backup offensive lineman. Problem solved.

Perhaps we could play Saturday's jilted opponent of Albany who quit the season due to injuries.

Villanova is the opponent left at the alter and they are free on Saturday. We'll pay their gas and tolls to drive up to Worcester.

One option might be to set back the Lehigh-Lafayette game a week and have HC play Lafayette. I doubt the league or CBS Sports wants to see Bucknell meeting HC one week prior to the same two teams playing in the championship game.

That's a good option but I don't care about protecting CBS Sports. We've got a good thing going with ESPN+ and then for the championship game we have to hunt down access to CBS Sports.

Thanks. I know FCS treated differently, but isn't it still governed by the NCAA of which all FBS schools are members.f

There's been no announcement on either schools website; nor anything from the Patriot League.
