From the NCAA website.
10 Conferences Champions have an automatic bid, Conference must have 3 teams playing spring football.
"Tolliver said the championship committee has determined that at-large candidates must play a minimum of four games this season to be considered for selection."
Looks like at-large bids need 4 games. Auto-bids just need 3 teams playing (hopefully sometime during the spring and not at the end...)

Thanks for what appears to be good news, dogpound.

Woof, woof dogpound. Beat Bucknell and we're in. Reminiscent of the RW years in MBB. And if needed we have up to two weeks for the stars to align with both teams healthy enough to play on the same day.

With more people getting the vaccines now. Can we at least get Fitton to the state required capacity by allowing fans to go to the game?

If the game is on ESPN+ it will save a few hassles for some people. I wonder how the FCS playoffs will be televised/streamed? FCS playoffs are part of the ESPN NCAA contract.

Hearing from my sources that the tentative plan is for HC to host Bucknell this weekend, day and time TBD. Do your sources say whether this will be the championship game ?

Nice of them to not post anything about the Colgate game, anywhere. One would think if there was no game, at this point, Bucknell would not be until the 17th.

Bucknell is supposed to be on Sunday the 11th. Of course that could change. But I'm pretty confident in this as of right now.

I'm sure others here have better sources than I do (since I have none), but since the 4/10 game against Colgate is still listed on the schedule I'm assuming it will be played.

Regardless of whether Colgate plays another game, they are truly awful and have to start next season at BC. Somehow they are back to where they were during most of the Duffner and Vass years. Quite surprising given their quarter century of competitive teams.
Question: were they able to attract more (and perhaps better) athletes under the non-scholarship rules?

Why is it on Sunday ?

I am sure there are reasons for picking Sunday (maybe having to come to a mutually agreeable date with CBS Sports?) but the weather will not be good.

IDK. 2 years ago (in the schollie era) they were 10- 2 with a win v JMU in a playoff game. Last year (IMHO) they opened with a strong schedule and got smacked around (starting 0-5) to finish well under .500 and this year not so good. I do think WE’VE got their number with Chesney/recruits going forward.

HC is in orange alert status, and I don't think fans are allowed until status drops to yellow. (The upgrade to orange was planned before Easter break, because so many students would be off campus the college anticipated a spike in cases.) As of mid-day, nine students who have returned to campus following Easter break have tested positive.
Also, Holy Cross has home baseball and softball games on Saturday afternoon. The college may not be able to produce two or three television feeds simultaneously.
And it may be that Bucknell would like another day to prepare.

Can 90 football players all stay COVID-free between now and Sunday?

/\ /\ All of our team and all of their team and all of the staffs/officials, etc? It is a pandemic involving a contagious respiratory virus so I’m not sure what sort of odds I’d put on it.

Can 90 football players all stay COVID-free between now and Sunday? I am quite sure the team, and members of the other varsity teams, stayed on campus where they were regularly tested. There were no positive tests between April 2 and 4, and one positive test on April 1. HC was on break April 1 through 6. The purpose of reverting to orange alert status was to identify new positive cases early on. Nine positives April 5-7 is a rate similar to what happened during March, when HC averaged between 15-20 new cases per week, yet remained in yellow alert status all month. If there isn't a further spike tomorrow, then I would expect HC to go back to yellow by Saturday.
