Classic look with Fitton Field above the board. Congrats to your program -- that board will add a nice touch to the game-day experience.

Why doesn't the mid line of the video board line up with the mid line of the field?... better for events that have a pavilion on the field?... like commencement?

So as not to distract the kicker down that end? Are the goal posts taken down when they want them out of the way or in the winter? Easy enough to do the way they build them these days.

Thanks, Ignutz. I think it's going to be a close fight that won't be decided until the final couple of minutes. The field surface is grass and its going to be wet.
I live in Watertown, SD, town of about 23,000 which is 50 minutes north of SDSU and Brookings, SD. Yesterday's local paper had a front page story about Coach Stig. Above the fold is a full-color picture of your Coach Chesney and Stig shaking hands after the HC and SDSU game. Good to see the Holy Cross name out here and I hope the schools meet again in the near future.

Jacked: The new Video Scoreboard that will be installed within the next month at Fitton, will be first of many (possibly 7) if all venues, Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer and Lacrosse that will be upgraded over the next five years according to the new Five Year Athletics Strategic Plan released last week. Track and Field / Field Hockey may also be upgraded, but they along with Swimming have been replaced within the last couple of years. There will be quite a few phone calls and zoom sessions between Worcester and Brookings over the next several years. Tennis? I don't think tennis will get a videoboard. If baseball gets a board, softball will as well. The 'problem' with field hockey and the running track is the lack of a camera platform(s) I think Fr. K. field will be the first to be upgraded; that field gets a lot of use, The stands are too small, no concessions or restrooms. ___________ SDSU's new (in 2016) stadium cost $65 million, probably built with non-union labor, and in a state where construction costs less than it does in Massachusetts. AIC streamed the NE-10 Track and Field Championships with zero press box or camera platforms. So that argument is nuts.

You are really reaching for new ways to try to criticize HC. Brown football sucks. 5-25 the last three seasons. Their stadium sucks. Football on real grass does not suck.

Weird post. You can say our lack of a legitimate video board makes HC a dinosaur (not any more, fortunately). But not having field turf? Also, Brown's football stadium is hardly legendary. Bottom tier Ivy Stadium, for sure.

Legendary stadiums don't have high school stands (albeit nice ones that would for most games fit all the fans that go there) on one side and a track around them.
Lovely neighborhood Brown Stadium is in, I'll give you that.

I can't think of a better playing surface than Fitton Field. I sat in the handicapped section, such as it is, on the visitor's side with my buddy who has MS and uses two complicated multi pronged canes. You should have heard the oohing and ahhing from visiting fans when they got into their seats and had a good elevated view of the brilliant green grass on a picture perfect fall day. As they looked carefully and determined the immaculate field was real grass they were very impressed.

AIC could use a scissor lift to provide a camera platform angle for track. Due how the Hart track is next to the Soccer Stadium on the east side, and the small flat space available on the west side, I don’t believe a scissors lift can be used safely in that location. Remember the hydraulic lift accident on October 27, 2010, at Notre Dame, where Declan Sullivan was aloft filming a practice on a 50 foot scissors lift? He was killed when the lift toppled due to winds in excess of 50 mph. Notre Dame was found at fault and fined. news.nd.edu/news/notre-dame-investigation-finds-four-primary-factors-led-to-declan-sullivan-tragedy/www.latimes.com/sports/chibrknews-notre-dame-fined-77500-for-lift-death-20110315-story.htmlAt Homecoming of 2019, I was on the playing surface at Fitton. It was in impeccable condition, and if one had not known better on first sight, it appeared artificial. Now with one of the few D1 stadiums with real grass, it may be a plus when it comes to HC teams being use to playing the surface, as well as the team having less injuries. Just remember the quote from Dick Allen.....”If a cow can’t eat it, I don’t want to play on it”.

Turf the field, video scoreboard, for all 17 fans that go the games. 4 IVY Championships in 70 years. Worst college football fanbase in the northeast and its not close. Why would anybody unless they care about Johnny Heisman, Joe Paterno and James Devlin. Heres the quotes if you want them. Stadium Journey "Attendance at Brown football games can be quite erratic, but never approaches the stadium’s capacity of 20,000. In recent seasons average attendance has ranged anywhere from 3,000 to 6,000 fans per game. The crowd is a mix of alumni and locals, and as is the case at many Brown athletic events, are fairly reserved. You’re not going to be a part of a rowdy crowd at Brown Stadium. A disappointing aspect of the crowd at Brown football games is the absence of any kind of significant turnout by the student body. The stadium is located off-campus, which may dampen turnout despite shuttle busses that run from campus to the stadium and a new dedicated student section in the northwest end zone." Look it up!

The same applies at Brown basketball games at Pizzitola. Visiting Holy Cross fans tend to be "rowdy" and violate the campus mores which brings a reaction from Brown co-eds doing their best to have a certain non alumnus fan be ejected by the campus police for (gasp) cheering for his favorite team; riding the refs and (double gasp) root against the Brown team. Enthusiasm MUST be checked at the door upon admittance.

When he had the nerve to actually cheer for his team, didn't NAD learn that from some fans at a hoop game at Brown a few years back?

They got the job done so if the administration wants to do something a D-2 school can do, they can get it done at HC since they actually have a press box at Holy Cross and video filming areas.
