goholycross.com/news/2021/4/5/athletics-holy-cross-to-add-new-video-board-at-fitton-field.aspxI am glad the announcement is being made on April 5, 2021. If it had been released on April 1st, I would be suspicious 😒. Hoping a similar announcement is in line for the Hart Arena and Rink. From reviewing the announcement, The new Video Board will display Rushing Yards, Passing Yards, First Downs and Total Yards in game for each team. No longer will we see on the sign....Home....Visitors. Each team will be correctly named as well as their athletic logo be displayed.

Sounds almost too good to be true. It is great that we will finally have it! Heck, we are finally catching up to CCSU - only a decade or two later than them.

I wish they considered over the short side of the closed in horseshoe by 290. Seemed like an unobstructed view for even most of the visitors if placed and sized correctly. Maybe an idea for an additional board?

Good to hear. Six of seven PL schools will have video boards now.

In yesterday's game the camera showed a first cousin of the current non video scoreboard at Fitton. Perhaps Bucknell has a video board in addition or attached to the old style scoreboard that I didn't notice.

A concrete stadium with brick facing, modern locker rooms & concessions with seating. lighting for night games for 10-15 thousand in a horseshoe configuration would be a vast improvement over the current Holy Cross Stadium, This undertaking would require the support of various stakeholders (suspect many alums would not care for the change) and people with large checkbooks. If possible, I would change the location away from the flood plain up to the top of the hill close to the LUTH Athletic Center.(No doubt a sacrilege)

If that doesn't happen they will probably keep Fitton. 50-50 chance.🙂

It has the same scoreboard going back to at least 1994. And don't be fooled: "newly renovated" sounds better than "we cut the plans in half." As for Fitton, the stands will be 40 years old by mid-decade and the subject of reconstruction, tear-down, or relocation will likely come up at some point.
