Biggest disaster in Providence Hockey history! Good luck with him. You think Berard was boring, Army is worse. I could see his son Derek Army being an assistant though as he was an assistant with the Railers for two seasons.

unpopular take, they should kick some tires on some AHA associate coaches. Eric Lang played in the league (fka MAAC) at AIC, but got his coaching chops at West Point before AIC brought him home to totally revitalize that program. Joe Doyle is long time associate head coach at Air Force, done a bunch of recruiting for them and went to BC High. see if he wants to come back east for a head coaching job. The guy knows how difficult it is to recruit at an AHA school with higher academic standards. Same with Zach McKelvie at Army. great player in AHA, been on Riley's staff for awhile and they have figured out how to recruit good players over the last 5 or so years, even after Lang left. These guys maybe lifers at their respective schools, but at least inquire. not convinced an ECAC or HE assistance can easily adapt to recruiting in this league.

What about Brett Riley? Is LIU considered a better hockey job than Holy Cross?

There isn't a current D1 head coach in the country who would leave their current school for HC.

HC is not close to the best of Hockey East but the they are close to UVM. Marty St Louis and Tim Thomas are long gone.

Former PC and now former Michigan assistant coach Kris Mayotte is the new CC head coach. Activate the Ben Barr - HC connection 😉

Would be good if we could get some news about who is interviewing. Probably won’t be any until we hire someone.

Very sad. I bet he would have been happy to see another NE team, UMass doing well - leading 4-0 after two in the National Championship game.

UMass blows out defending champ St. Cloud State 5-0 to become D-1 national champions. With apologies to Bob Lobel, why can't we get coaches like Greg Carvel?

b/c HC doesn't play in HE, and Carvel has family ties to Amherst.

And playing in a rink where coaches/players on the bench have to stare at a wall across from them isn’t exactly a big selling point either.

Carvel's wife is from Amherst Einstein. They said the same thing about Carvel at St Lawrence his alma mater and hometown. Money talks so we will see what UMass does with him. The NHL bug has been in him for a long time so we will see if he goes back.

The NHL bug has been in him for a long time so we will see if he goes back. Good luck on your HC search. Our AD posted on twitter after the regional wins that a contract extension was in order and the following day Greg Carvel post Yes. That said sure there will be an updated contract with a good raise offered. The thing that was surprising is during the post game presser on twitter, Carvel could barely talked. Was happy and not ungrateful but said this season was a real grind day in and day out. He was totally spent and looked it. He was going to lay low for the next few weeks. Time will tell but also can see being happy here, with is wife from Amherst, could pass on the NHL, but will be his decision.
