For perspective, the Defensive POY chose U Miami over offers from Alabama, Clemson. Cincinnati, Auburn Although they compete in 5A in FL, American Heritage is a higher end HS program, with consistent highly rated recruits. They reclassified the divisions several times, but 5A is the 4th largest (or smallest) division. Even so, this is a major honor for the kid, 8A: 2,356+ 7A: 2,355 – 1,924 6A: 1,923 – 1,582 5A: 1,581 – 1,137 4A: 1,136 – 740 3A: 739 – 361 2A: 360 & below 1A: 600 & below and Rural Designation

Weren't there those that were questioning if Chesney could recruit at D1?

Weren't there those that were questioning if Chesney could recruit at D1? Yes-- and some countered by suggesting that recruiting was essentially selling, and that someone who could sell, say, a D-2 and D-2 college could sell student-athletes on Holy Cross

Former HC Commit Hunter Helms is now one step away from starting for Clemson:

Weren't there those that were questioning if Chesney could recruit at D1? HC87 never would have said that, nor would he never have said he could recruit.

Do we know if Butash or Seiderman were given much of a look this fall and spring or did the staff focus on seniors and experience. They each came in with good numbers, so will we have 2-3-4 competing for the QB position this fall?

Well, the staff focused on at least one QB besides the incumbent

Understand hoops, but given his limited availability to practice I was wondering if the others were involved in the process

Former HC Commit Hunter Helms is now one step away from starting for Clemson: I half watched the Clemson spring game replayon YouTube. Helms was the backup for the first team, but also played QB for the second team. (All the QBs had purple jerseys.) The white jerseys in the above photo are the second team. He led to the white team the winning touchdown. In 2020, he had a higher QB Eff rating than some guy named Lawrence. Clemson is probably looking for a QB in the transfer portal, but odds are that young Mr. Helms will be #2 on the depth chart when Clemson opens against University of Georgia. Clemson did recruit a QB, but clearly someone for a back-up role From SI,

Thank you! He will not see the field the backup from last year is healthy. Helms will have one of the best seats available at Clemson stadium. Forgot about that kid as soon as he waived good bye to HC.

NY State only has 5, and until about 20 years ago had only 4.
