Bob is sadly in real bad shape with pneumonia and a litany of other ailments, and is at a facility in Leicester, MA where he will likely spend his remaining days.
If anyone wishes to brighten his very tough time with a card or note, I've been told he'd love to hear from HC alums/fans.

Just finished my note--even found a pen with purple ink- and will pop it in the mail box. I told Bob there was a big crew of Crusader fans out here praying and pulling for him.

Friend of mine on the HCAA board saw my post on Facebook about Bob and is also going to spread the word.

Will be sending a note mentioning my Rube Goldberg radio antenna coat hanger extension wrapped around the metal knob of a kitchen cabinet door that allowed me to fine tune reception of his broadcasts by opening the cabinet door a half inch or so. Sometimes it was an "old fashioned rock fight" to get the signal, but worth it.

I took trips around Greater Worcester to places I never knew existed to hear radio broadcasts when the football games left WTAG. The ones that I remember most for that are the W&M clobbering in 1986 and the Princeton game in 1988. Almost switched off the Princeton game after they went ahead I was so pissed off.

on cloudy winter nights I could actually pick up bits and pieces of a Bob's WTAG broadcast down here in Fairfield County - very seldom, but it did happen once in a while with certain weather conditions

I used to call WTAG and the team there for whatever reason put the phone down so I could listen. My wife didn't like the phone bills over the years, but listening to him was worth every pennyπππβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ Even when we couldn't afford it!

What could say someone was thinking of Bob Fouracre more than to say that today is the 37th meeting ever between Holy Cross and Bucknell (and at some point to replace "between Holy Cross and Bucknell" by "between these fine institutions")

With the title on the line, should be a good, old-fashioned rock fight.

But with no "sreaming Meemies" (sp?) from "the College of the Holy Cross" as Father Brooks instructed Bob to refer to HC as.

I am so sorry to hear that...even if inevitable. May his soul rest in peace and may he find a nice Purple corner of Heaven from which to watch HC sports.

Very saddened to hear that Bob has passed away as he was truly a great Crusader. I had occasion to speak with him several times and he was always friendly and welcoming to this HC fan. R.I.P. I hope there will be a big HC turnout at his service and proper recognition on Goholycross.com of his contributions to the College
