Right. Looks like a 35-10 game on the books.

Holy Cross players posting on Instagram flying out of Worcester. Going to miss Asante in this game. Anybody know what happened to Ayeni? Go Cross Go ✝️✝️✝️ Getting out of Dodge early during the pandemic: smart NCAA drives the bus on transportation at this level. Holy Cross has no say.

Just had to be there today! It brought back memories from 2016 when I was fortunate to accompany the HC Men's BB team (Allegiant Air Charter) on their NCAA trip to Dayton, then Spokane and back (thank you FADNP)! ! The "crossisback" beat me to it with a couple of photos, but I'll post 2 here and 2 in the next reply. As far as I could see, there were a total of 5 cars up at Worcester Airport watching the HC FB team departure. Think the "crossisback" may be in one of the cars in the first picture (the white one?) All loaded up and ready to go... Attachment DeletedTaxiing down the runway... was surprised that they actually taxied to the city end of the runway and took off towards the Leicester end going into the wind... Maybe our expert flight people can explain... Attachment Deleted

I believe Tenio Ayeni was injured during "preseason" out for the Spring....Ayir Asante could play the following week but not this Saturday unfortunately. COVID

Big opportunity for HC's talented freshmen WR's. We're going to have to throw the ball to win.

The wind may be a deterrent to passing by both teams, esp the long ball.

Sluka completed a short dart last week that would not be effected by wind. If he can establish one dimension of his game it will open up the other dimension.

Doesn't anyone have an equipment manager on Life 360? Heard the equipment truck is crossing into O-HI-O. JEEZ.
Glad the boys made it to Sioux Falls. Did we really want to tell the Jackrabbit posters where the team is staying...
If there is a fire alarm tomorrow night, we will find jackedforlife for a Worcester Welcome.

For aviation interests. Planes always take off and land into the wind. Planes fly on airspeed, not groundspeed but the runway is a defined length. So taking off into a 20 MPH wind is a 20MPH head start. Same as landing, if stall at 125 MPH, and you have a 20 MPH headwind, you effectively land with the ground moving at 105MPH.
If you landed with the wind, the ground would be passing you at 145MPH with the end of the runway quickly approaching.
I will start a separate thread on Bernoulli's Principle (principle of flight) for you HC liberal arts majors.

Remember ... the natural sciences are included in the liberal arts and some of us even majored in one of those sciences.

This nugget from the Worcester Telegram Re: Brian Foley’s status for the game:
Foley questionable Holy Cross beat Bucknell without its best offensive lineman, three-time All-PL left tackle Brian Foley, who sat out with an injury. Chesney said he is questionable for Saturday. Foley, a senior, will play a fifth season at Duke...

Chesney said he is questionable for Saturday. Foley, a senior, will play a fifth season at Duke... So you're saying there's a chance? This makes me feel good that he's not sitting out during the Holy Cross season to protect Duke's interest. Hope he can play.

Wind was whipping pretty good at Worcester Airport today!Just parked in the parking lot you could feel the car moving with gusts... back at home 12 miles SE of the airport and almost the same altitude my wind gauge hit 41 mph!

You're a better man than I. I don't even know what that means. To me Reynolds numbers are how many rolls of Reynolds Wrap you buy at the store.

Latest hourly forecast calls for sunny skies from noon to 6pm CDT, temps from 48-56 degrees and much calmer winds. Blowing out of the N and NNW anywhere from 8-12 mph, with the stronger winds at noon and gradually decreasing over the afternoon.

From The Athletic
Holy Cross at No. 1 South Dakota State (-24) 3 p.m., Saturday on ESPN3 Holy Cross has proven to be the class of the Patriot League. Even in the short sample size this spring, they have outscored opponents 87-37. Their rush defense has been stifling, and their pass defense has held up. But in the past seasons, every time the Crusaders stepped up in class, they could not hold their own. In 2018 it was a 34-14 loss to Dartmouth and a 28-0 loss to New Hampshire, and in 2019, a 44-27 loss to Monmouth. Holy Cross travels to take on the No. 1 seed South Dakota State. When the Jackrabbits are clicking, they can steamroll opponents, ask Western Illinois (45-10) and Southern Illinois (44-3). They have one of the best rushing attacks in the country, with three players who have run for more than 370 yards this season. That includes quarterback Mark Gronowski who has added 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns passing to his 383 yards rushing and six touchdowns. This game will be an uphill battle for the Crusaders. They have not faced firepower of this caliber this season, and unfortunately, the scoreboard will most likely reflect that. SDSU should overwhelm the Crusaders: Jackrabbits 45-17
All true about HC, but I am not sure how relevant those 2018 losses are when we were not dominant, not winning the PL, 4-6 overall. At least the BC score was not given.

You're a better man than I. I don't even know what that means. To me Reynolds numbers are how many rolls of Reynolds Wrap you buy at the store. Reynolds numbers are essential to aerodynamics. the extent that you have laminar (smooth) flow over a wing (or any surface) or turbulent flow is determined by the Reynolds number of a particular wing design. The lower the Reynolds number, the better. Turbulent flow corresponds to drag, and, as you might guess, there is also a corresponding formula for calculating the coefficient of friction.
