1942. Holy Cross was a 28 point underdog to mighty BC, the number one team in the nation. Final score, HC 55 - BC 12. No panty wastes on any HC football team! What did Coach Scanlan say to the lads prior to that game? Good luck, Crusaders. Go get 'em.

SDSU has an outside stadium. Closest major airport is Minneapolis. I know you said major airport, but Sioux Falls Regional Airport (Joe Foss Field) is 1 hour from South Dakota State used by these airlines: Frontier United Delta American Allegiant www.sfairport.com/Allegiant Air was the airline that was the charter flight for HC men's basketball NCAA trip back in 2016. So, if we are on an NCAA chartered flight it may well be Allegiant Air....

There should be flights from O'Hare to Sioux Falls, which is 60 miles from Brookings, and there are direct flights to O'Hare from everywhere
HCFC45 and I typed at the same time
Some will remember Joe Foss as a war hero and medal of honor winner, commissioner of the AFL, and governor of South Dakota

My guess is neither Sluka nor CD can heave it that far. Maybe Geoff Wade was the last to do that? Or Dom!

If one wanted to go, I think the easiest way would be a direct flight (probably on Delta) to Minneapolis. Then drive the 3:38 to Brookings. Sadly, nothing cheap from Bradley.

South Dakota trivia: South Dakota is the only state whose capital (Pierre) has none of the letters that are in the state name.

Cue Rodney Dangerfield: "I get no respect!" Still not sure how we could be ranked lower than SHU and Davidson (although considering ND beat SDSU who knows might be easier than Jax St). Surprised JMU isn't 1. Tough get for Monmouth too. The NCAA tournament selection officials have NO respect for the Patriot League. And this year with their champ playing only three games, at the league's own doing, I don't blame them. This will never change.

Reading some scouting reports about our opponent as well as watching some game highlights. They are a big, physical team. I expect them to pound the rock against us. Quite frankly, with such an undersized secondary I am surprised more teams didn’t employ a similar game plan with 2 TE sets or just a jumbo package and make us adjust. When you use a 5 DB package as our base defense and have a SS that is only 180lbs. I think this is what you should expect.
IMO if we want to play with the big boys in the FCS, we need to get bigger in the back end of our defense.

A few years ago, a defensive lineman out of Florida committed to the Jack Rabbits but then subsequently signed with the Crusaders. I remember thinking that it must have been the first kid we took away from South Dakota State.
Regrettably when he showed up in Worcester for camp he was not able to make the adjustment and left camp before classes even started.
I forget this young man’s name but I do recall he was a prized recruit at the time. I believe it would have been 2018.
Anybody recall this kid?

I noted yesterday that the HC defense bent but didn't break when Bucknell got untracked and started to move the ball. Of course five interceptions helps. Bucknell had several more first downs than HC, so our defense was a good part of our offense. Without creating turnovers and getting good field position on kicks it could be a long afternoon. But like someone said, the pressure will be on SDSU.

The HC coaching staff may be aware of their limitations, as both freshmen safeties (Rivers and Kane) are noticeably bigger versions of why we have (215lbs and 210lbs respectively).

Not that we’ve seen a rushing attack like we’ll see from the Jackrabbits but I’d prefer a strong rushing team over a strong passing team if I had to pick my poison this season.

I remember that, but I too have forgotten the young man's name. I believe he came for an official visit late in the recruiting season and committed, but I seem to recall that he lasted only a very short time after he came to camp and then left. Edit: Did a little research. His name was Tyrece Frater from Kissimmee, Florida -- signed in February 2019.

Larry - his last name I believe was Frater
He was a beast of a DL. I don’t believe he’s playing anywhere. Went back to FLA

After we shock SDSU, we”ll likely be headed to Ogden, UT to play Weber State. Other option would be our old friends, the Salukis.
