We need a 5th home game to get an 11 game schedule - I hope ADMB has that under control and is waiting for our spring season to end before making an announcement It seems like it's been a long time since we last had a season featuring more home games than road games. Is my impression correct? If so, any thoughts as to why. FBS games will pretty much guarantee this situation going forward. An FBS opponent will always be a road game. If HC plays an 11 game schedule every year with one FBS opponent and 10 FCS opponents with home and home agreements, the schedule will always be 5 home games and 6 road games. Start throwing in things like 2 FBS games in a season like the time we played Navy and Syracuse or playing a "home" game in Yankee stadium and that math gets even more skewed.

This year the Patriot League skewed us and we only got one home game but this was the year to lose out because Covid didn't allow for the full fan experience anyway. Road games like Merrimack, Bryant, Brown, Harvard, BC, CCSU, UConn, UMass are all only about an hour away so HC is lucky in that regard.

I believe at the moment we open our 2022 season @ Buffalo and our 2023 season @ BC, so we have the Eagles back on the schedule in a couple of years. Buffalo? Can’t we go somewhere nice if we’re going to play an FBS team no one cares about and isn’t particularly close to Worcester? Tulane.

Let's just beat Buffalo, and I bet we get some better offers.

Let's just beat Buffalo, and I bet we get some better offers. Might lead to worse offers. FBS schools want to win their annual FCS game. Bad for business if they lose.

I’ve heard some chatter that HC is looking to lock-up a game with Pitt. Also hearing that UCF is another possibility.

Take Central Florida over Pittsburgh

I think South Florida is much weaker than UCF which is a perennial power

I'd rather play Pitt than a Florida team....but I can see the recruiting angle with a game in the Sunshine State.
Outside of historic Eastern Indy rivals (including the service academies), I'd like to play the other "academic" P5 schools: Northwestern, Vandy, Duke etc. Colgate is playing Stanford in a year or two. I'd rather our potential "body-bag games" be against those fine institutions than Alabama, Texas et. al

There are several factors that go into deciding where we should play our one FBS game per year, including impact on football recruiting, alumni engagement, expanding our name recognition generally, etc. I trust the College is finding the best opportunities it can to meet as many of our needs as it can.

Pitt is interesting.
It would never happen but Penn State. 0-9 against them all time.
I would like to play Rutgers

Temple might be easier to beat than Pitt or PSU and is closer to more alumni.

Playing a game against Pitt in the proverbial backyard of our three PA Patriot League rivals would be a great get for HC on many different fronts.

Playing a game against Pitt in the proverbial backyard of our three PA Patriot League rivals would be a great get for HC on many different fronts. We played in Colgate's back yard against Syracuse and they are playing in ours against BC. I can't sense any big effect on either school one way or another except that both HC and Colgate playing in their own back yard vs their own regional rival would be more cost effective and environmentally friendly and might generate a little more local media attention due to the local pairing. But, what are you thinking of as far as advantages to playing in Bucknell's backyard?

Furthering our brand in PA, which is fertile ground for recruits, should help us in the long run against our PL rivals.

I would think "our brand" is fairly well known already in the Keystone State. We were recruiting there well before the PL was established. As others have noted, our brand could probably use a little push in much of the country outside the Northeast.
