Only 3+ months until camp opens and 4+ months until we take the field against UConn.
Best to get this thread started early so we don’t lose sight or focus on what’s really important atop Mt. St. James. 😉
Think about a healthy Jordan Forrest, Ayir Asante, Tenio Ayeni joining teammates and a host of rising sophomores with increased reps in practice and knowledge from a game vs a #1 ranked program such as Byron Shipman, Jalen Coker, Matt Sluka and others.
Let’s Win!!
#Commitment #Excellence ✝️👊🏻👊🏾🏈

Couldn’t have said it any better td128. I’m proud of our team! We need to work on getting bigger, stronger and faster as a Team. We are young and this Spring experience will pay big dividends in the future. I feel we’ll be very prepared for UConn in September.

Excited for next year.
Biggest challenge moving forward for HC Football is keeping Coach Chesney.

Excited for next year. Biggest challenge moving forward for HC Football is keeping Coach Chesney. I agree, but we need to get some more signature wins out of him.

Each year we get excited about our incoming recruits and hope they will be impact players. This year, in addition to some promising freshmen, we are adding two "new" players who are guaranteed to be impact players: Tenio Ayeni and Ayir Asante

We’re a passing game away from FCS contention.

I think that will be a major focus between now and Labor Day. HC will have a host of solid receivers, a good running game and just need to have a QB who can make more consistent connections with receivers (who will hold on go any balls on which they can get their hands). Simple to say but, perhaps, tougher to execute. It might take more than one QB to get all of that done. Defense should again be solid with a bit more depth in the secondary and up front as well.

Tom Brady had a performance resurgence after the Patriots drafted Jimmy G. in the second round to challenge him. One silver lining is that Matt Sluka won't be resting on his laurels as a finalist for national freshman of the year after his first loss as starting QB...ever. Everybody should be motivated to improve more than if the season ended with HC as undefeated PL champion and the playoffs were cancelled this season.

fbschedules.com/holy-cross-football-schedule/Just took a look at the upcoming schedule for the fall of 2021. We are still missing an 11th game. Still open are 9/11 and 10/9. Monmouth is once again on the schedule. RGS, you should be happy with a game relatively close to home on 9/25. . Have there been any recent postings about offers for the class of 2026?

Monmouth been there and done that.
But, I want revenge in that game. We will be there.
We are going to be the champs of Connecticut. Beat UConn, Yale and maybe CCSU. CCSU is open on the 11th.

One question is which current seniors will be taking the field against UConn. Most likely not the two senior QBs.

Monmouth should be strong but it could be a solid win for HC against good competition. I hope to get there...but, after this year, one never knows.

One question is which current seniors will be taking the field against UConn. If you mean competing for Holy Cross, I’m assuming they are all graduating. (This is the semester football medical redshirt seniors would have been out of school.)

One question is which current seniors will be taking the field against UConn. I’ve heard that Grant Holloman and Benton Whitley are expected back for a 5th year, as well as 1 or more senior OL.

We’re a passing game away from FCS contention. Perhaps, but I think it is more about speed, quickness and depth—that is the difference where we are and the best FCS teams, and between the top of 1AA and mid FBS we played with people this spring that weren’t likely candidates for the 2 deep that is great for experience and development but when others put their starters on the field we were putting our 2nd/3rd levels out there... as that levels grows and improves for us we can compete at the next levels so from my perspective it was a great spring season and thank every player and coach for giving of themselves to represent the school

UCONN might be the worst Division I football team in the state of Connecticut next year depending on how they fared keeping kids from transferring and how they did recruiting for this coming fall.
