So, Joe Pridgen will be suiting up for his second Massachusetts D-1 school this winter. Got me thinking - have any other players played for multiple D-1 schools in Mass? Only one I could think of was Joe Beaulieu, who played for BC and Harvard and the late 70s (when BC was taking the Barbasol approach to basketball). While you've got some NE multiples (RJ, Kevin Stacom (ouch), Champ Godbolt), I can't think of any others who have done it strictly with Massachusetts colleges. Can anyone come up with others besides Joe P and Beaulieu?

You don't have to go back too far -- or far, at all -- for this one: Rich Kelly, who spent his first three years at Quinnipiac and this past season at BC, transferred to UMass for his final year of eligibility.

Tony Gaffney is another name that comes to mind -- began his career at BU and finished at UMass.

In terms of NE schools, not just MA, there's a kid who in high school committed to UConn, backed out of that and went to PC, and has since transferred to BC. Kind of making the New England high major rounds

It was pretty clear from Beaulieu's academic performance at BC(little or none) that someone played fast and loose with his academic credentials at Don Bosco HS. Didn't belong at BC, HC or Harvard. Admissions did Holy Cross a service in this case. I think also because freshmen didn't become eligible to play varsity ball in the Ivy League until at least the 80s he never played a varsity game for the Crimson.

Well, like you said earlier, Ray, we are getting old. Can't believe I missed that one also. In all fairness, that was 25 years ago (and a dark time for the program). Lots of guys have suited up in 25 years. I think we should give ourselves a pass for not remembering every player

Yeah, I always wondered if having a captain transfer to BU supposedly because of financial considerations wasn't (fortunately) the death knell for "need based" grants in Division 1 basketball. That and George Blaney not finishing up his head coaching career here.

Brown transferred not because of financial considerations Then what he stated in the papers was bs. Not doubting you by any means.
