What does anyone think are the chances of either St Joe's or LaSalle being a home and home? They've been in the not too distant past.....but both had different coaches back then.

Great! We play a High School team (Regis of NY) and a Striking Nurses team (Mt. St. Vincent's)!!! .... Now that's the way to get "fannies" in the seats at the Hart! ... And, oh, God forbid we should lose to either or both of them! ...

Away games against Central CT and Quinnipiac - ugh.
We have to go all the way to Daytona to possibly play Bryant - lunacy.

I imagine the guys will be seeing replays of the UMass Boston over and over again before these upcoming D-3 games.

The December portion is pretty tough especially with 5 of the 6 games on the road. The home schedule is going to be one of the least attractive in HC history. Of course I am one of those oldtimers who remembers the days of yore. The schedule doesn't exactly make me want to run out and renew my season tickets but I will. The purchase will be more of a sign of support for the program.

BTW, what Division are the two schools mentioned above, in?

This is a schedule by a coach who knows he needs to get some wins ..... And some home games A key point. Assuming all or most of Quinnipiac, Central Connecticut, La Salle, Fairfield, Harvard, St. Joe's are home-and-homes, we are in great shape for the home slate next year, and hopefully we can get start some new series on the road to be more balanced going forward. After we have the home slate balanced, I would expect/hope the cupcakes (Regis, Mount St. Vincent, Air Force) disappear from the schedule.

What does anyone think are the chances of either St Joe's or LaSalle being a home and home? Maybe a two-for-one. For St. Joes at least, I doubt a home-and-home.

Seems like some decent games in there to me but I tend to be an optimist. Maybe we can make a comparison to past OOC schedules using KenPom or Sagarin to gauge the estimated strength of schedule?? Does ken Pom include D 3s ? No. So teams playing D2/D3 teams will always have a strength of schedule higher than what it really is.

Air Force is not a cupcake - their rpi is way above ours - any W vs D.1 competition is a good one - Baby steps for our program and plenty of patience will be necessary from us posters

Shall I quote myself a little earlier on this thread?
"Seems like we’ve gone down this road before with a basketball coach being accused of dumbing down the schedule in order to gain crucial wins to retain his job."

With last season in D-1 being so unusual I thought it might be better to see where these opponents ranked two years ago
Regis= D3 bc= #179 Quinnipiac= #251 Air Force= #197 Bethune-Cookman (The real BC)= #292 Bryant= #234 Mt St Vincent= D3 UNH= #248 Central Conn= #347 LaSalle= #181 Fairfield= #301 Siena= #145 Harvard= #110 St Joseph's= #260
Sub-optimal

Didn't that coach get an automatic extension if he attained a certain number of wins?

Air Force is not a cupcake - their rpi is way above ours Air Force was 5-20 last year, and their Ken Pom was #332. Holy Cross was 5-11, #304.
And Joe Scott is not John Wooden.

Air Force is a personal issue for BBC, looking at the road schedule in 19-20 the only legitimate opponents who would likely return a game were UNH, Siena and Canisius got two of the three.

Yes he did. And, so far, compared to Brett Nelson's results, he looks like he was the second coming of John Wooden.
I suspect for Nelson, it is not a matter of getting an extension but more like retaining his current contract.

Really only two because Canisius was a return game from playing at HC in 18-19. A 4-year deal that sends us to Buffalo 2 out of 3 years wouldn't have made much sense unless we were able to pull off the triplet or couplet of games out there. My Air Force comment was meant to be a bit of joke, but their AD and coach are cupcakes and they did stink last year.

Are we positive we aren’t playing the prestigious high school in Manhattan? You know, so we get a game in the metro area for alums?
Oh, guess not. It’s a home game.

Just checked the Regis website: one player @ 6-7 and then 2 @ 6-3 are the tallest players. I like our chances to control the boards. I think this should be--had better be--very ugly.......

The roster on their web site is from the 2019-20 season, when they went 8-18. They did not play last year, so who knows how many players are even left from that team. Would be surprising if HC doesn't win by more than 35 points.

With 2 D-3 teams in the schedule, does anyone want to revise their predictions on the number of wins?
