Team is just piling up loses. That last inning was brutal. Start with the bases loaded. 2 strikeouts on 3-1 counts and then just a groundout.

Sr. Keough pitching game 2 and we're down 3-1 after 4 innings - team looks defeated and ready to put away their bats and gloves for the season - will they show some pride and turn this around ?

One of these 3 teams will make the playoffs Navy is 9-12 after losing 1st game to Army Bucknell is 10-14 after losing 1st game to Laf and they’re trailing 9-3 late in game 2 ... and HC 8-13 after losing game 1 today (we have tiebreaker vs Bison)

If we sweep Lehigh tmro (unlikely) and Lafayette sweeps bucknell, we’re in - problem is that Lehigh is motivated as they’re in contention to host throughout the playoffs

Navy won game 2 vs. Army so the Mids are 10-12 We’re 8-14 We’ll have to sweep Lehigh and hope army sweeps navy tmro so we’d be tied with 10-14 records - we split the season series with Navy

Well, we finished with a split today and our record ends at 10-20 (9-15 in PL) - lost game one 4-1, and was trailing game 2, 5-0 in the 2nd inning - we came back for a 9-7 win with Alex Bryant wrapping an excellent season with the win in relief - big hit was a two run homer in the 8th by Dellacono which gave us the lead 8-6. Happy for the guys to finish on a positive note but there's much work to do with this roster going forward.

If Army wins their game 2 today vs Navy they will tie Lehigh for top seed in the tourney - their head to head series will not break the tie as it was split 2-2. Believe Lafayette will be no.3 and Navy 4th

Very interesting with Holy Cross and Assumption both hosting doubleheaders on Saturday, the woosox hosted Assumption and SNHU for their "soft" opener.
Wonder why? Was Holy Cross approached? Just interesting the d-2 school got the call over HC!

Assumption University is the higher education sponsor and one of the Worcester Red Sox’s 21 founding partners. Assumption has a marketing sponsorship with the WooSox. Of note, Assumption has a sport management program that provide interns who work in the various facets of the WooSox operations, from front office, to tickets to grounds crew. Assumption also has a Rehabilitation and Therapy major, that will send student interns to the WooSox for practical training. Assumption did also announce last week they are moving into the Railers owned practice rink for Hockey.

Don't worry Foley HC will play games at Polar Park. For this weekend their was no need to when you could just play the games at Fitton. Assumption going to the Railers practice rink who cares. They took it because Becker is out. Rink is worse than the Hart Center. Worcester State plays all their home games there to.

Why do get so much satisfaction demeaning Holy Cross ? I am stating a fact....Holy Cross isn't connecting with the community at all anymore. How do you not see it?

With Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field, and Hart Hockey Rink on campus, playing at Polar Park and the Raiders facility offers no tangible benefits to the HC athletic programs. Also, entering into an agreement with a Polar Soda partner may breech HC’s agreement with Pepsi. Playing at Polar Park May require a waiver from Pepsi. The President of Pepsi Global Foodservice is a member of the HC Board of Trustees and a HC Alum.

Did I ever say that it was going to be their home park? I just found it interesting that the D-1 and D-2 schools in the city were both home on the same day. The D-2 school got the game at the big ballpark instead of the D-1 school. Hartford and Quinnipiac opened up the Hartford park in front of 2910 people and U of Hartford has consistently played a few games a year there since. (Of course, that will change with the D-3 Hartford Hawks)

Thanks for visiting Crossports, you do provide some valuable insights. As well as providing us all an analysis of HC athletic strengths and weakness. Reflection can be an avenue to change and innovation.
My reply provides at a least two reasons why HC will probably not play at Polar Park based on current agreements as well as not having a logistical need to play in the facility as a home team.
If Assumption and HC scheduled a game next season or in the future, and Assumption was the host team at Polar Park, maybe the game would be feasible. Otherwise, I don’t foresee it happening, or the need....since HIP can accomodatd 3,000+.

My town’s high school team played at the Hartford Yard Goats stadium a few days ago. It happens all the time with various local teams. If you are willing to pay the dough, you can play the game there.
