I wish him well and still recall the excitement when he chose to come to HC. I am sorry things did not work out as all had hoped. (Classy exit statement.) Might HC start thinking about a grad degree again in our future?

I didn't realize he still had any remaining eligibility, let alone 2 years. Good for him. Hope he gets a chance to start somewhere and also get a graduate degree.

Best wishes to him. Hope he finds somewhere that allows him to get a grad degree (maybe for free) and continue playing football.

With the glut at QB, including the incoming Joe Pesansky (sp?), this was not surprising.

I'm happy he gets to play 2 more years and if they take care of grad school even a bit, he's way ahead of the game.

Not unexpected as he didn't get any snaps during the Spring season.
Any word if anyone is transferring in to HC this year?

Who knows what would have happened in a normal 11 (or, if HC repeated, like they did, at least 12) game season? I bet he would have had an opportunity to do something.
Plus, the freshman was much less likely to be able to play in Game 2 if the season was in the fall.

Not unexpected as he didn't get any snaps during the Spring season. Any word if anyone is transferring in to HC this year? Not sure about this year. I know Tua Tugavailoa's little brother was planning to tranfer here last year from Alabama but opted for Maryland instead when he heard that Sluka signed his LOI.

I bet Tom Brady will retire rather than compete with Sluka in the 2024 NFL season.

Tanking for Sluka....hope it doesn't make the 2023 NFL season too much of a mockery....you might see teams trying to score into their own end zones.

His twitter feed lists him at 6'2" 230 lbs. The roster lists him at 6'2" 206 lbs.

I wish him well. I'm curious, though, how he has 4 years left.

With Butash transferring, we now have only 2 QBs on the roster. Sluka and Siderman.
I know we have one incoming freshman QB coming this fall (the kid from Tampa…I forget his name). That would make 3 QBs.
Am I missing anyone else? 3 QBs seems a bit thin…

Joe Pesansky is the guy from Florida--originally from NoVa I believe. I think he will make his presence felt
Here's the count of quarterbacks from some past seasons (FR-S0-JR-SR). One might conclude that Coach Chesney does not like to carry as many on the roster as FCTG
2010= 2-1-2-1 6 TOTAL 2013= 0-4-2-1 7 TOTAL 2014= 2-1-0-3 6 TOTAL 2016= 1-2-2-1 6 TOTAL
2018= 1-2-1-1 6 TOTAL 2019= 1-0-2-1 5 TOTAL 2020= 2-1-0-2 5 TOTAL

Carry 3 QBs is too few. If there is one injury, you can't even run scout team at practice with the risk of getting another kid hurt. Also, the amount of reps these kids take during the summer and fall is very tough on the arm with only 3 kids.
IMO getting a transfer QB is a must this summer. Someone else indicated 3 would be enough with another person on the roster as an emergency. You can't do that. It's too difficult of a position to play. I think 5 is the right number on a roster, but 4 is a must.
