Close to zero debate about this, I would think.

For what it's worth the last two men's basketball players to win this award were Jehyve Floyd and Frank Powell.
In my opinion, the fact that it is seldom given to a basketball player makes this a bigger honor for Austin

Butler is a very deserving candidate for the Maloney Award. I think he led the team in dives for loose balls all four years.
That being said, I thought it would go to Faw more as a share the wealth thing after Butler won the Cooney Award. As I stated above, the last two basketball players to win the Cooney Award were Powell and Floyd - and neither one won the Maloney Award the same season.
I can't find that list of past Cooney Award winners, but Butler might be the first person ever to win both the Cooney Award and the Maloney Award in one season. Another thing to remind us that he is a special kid

I was able to find the list of past Cooney winners that wouldn't load yesterday
Austin is the 5th mens basketball player to win the Cooney Award (only goes back to 1982). He is in fact the only player to win the Cooney and Maloney in the same season. Jehyve Floyd also won both awards, but he won the Maloney award as a junior (the year there were no seniors on the team), not as a senior

Good to see heโs doing well.
I suspected he is immersing himself in the local community stone and traditions. ๐

Have fun in Finland Austin. Year six and the ride continues after you fulfilled your obligations to two fine institutions, and got the T-shirt and degree at both. You did things the right way.

His team beat BC! BC Nokia, that is.
One big star over there was Gerald Lee, brother of NBA players Russell and Ron (from Boston). Stayed there after he got done playing.
His son played for ODU then went back there to play pro.
