4 very tight playoff victories for SHSU. Total margin of victory for the 4 straight wins was 15. Quite a playoff run. Kudos to the 10-0 champs.

Good game. Isiah Davis was the SDSU offense. Phenomenal runner. The second string SDSU QB showed the limits of a QB who is not a passing threat. Assuming the first string QB does not have a serious knee injury, SDSU should be potent this fall. Felt badly for SDSU losing the QB. Depth matters and the play from the backup was a significant dropoff and took away many offensive options-beyond passing and running. But it was an enjoyable championship game

Coach Stig said Gronowski has a "serious leg injury". Watching him walk off -- was limping. Several minutes later he tried to warm up and first attempt to throw didn't go well...normal twist to his leg in the process of throwing and he acted like hurt and wasn't working. All that seems to suggest ACL. If that is accurate (and I do not know for a fact), normal recovery and return to athletic competition: 8-10 months. And therein lies the problem some programs were worried about: Spring season injury messing up the Fall season which starts in less than four months.
The Sam Houston QB is a pretty tough customer. He got pounded a few times but continued to play well.
SDSU loses one player: LB Preston Tetzlaff enters law school this fall.

Nice explanation by the announcer about how the buy-in by the University and Community took off for SDSU when they moved up from Division 2 to 1.

2019 PL rookie of the year, QB Shoemaker from Lafayette transferred to San Houston last year - wonder if he’ll be good enough to play there

Picked SHSU in the pool but was rooting for SDSU as I’ve enjoyed all of their fans who visited here. Seems like they would have won but for the Gronowski injury. Hope his injury doesn’t force him to miss the Fall season.

I saw this game as very close and that is what happened, but with Gronowski playing I picked SDSU. Even with him sidelined, they almost pulled it out. SHU is tough both physically and mentally. PS: I think I may have tied for first in our FCS playoff "pick-em" and I look forward to seeing the final standings.

Those tied for first in the last week of the season chip in to buy the Commissioner a thank you gift.

The head official today is Steve Cadorette from Somerset, MA.....I coached his nephew at Dartmouth High. I detected a New England accent on a couple of his announcements.

Here's hoping that Gronowski's injury is a sprain, not a tear. I did watch the replay of him trying one practice throw on the sideline and when he tried to plant his leg to step into the throw, the leg gave up.

Our 2019 playoff nemesis, the Monmouth Hawks, played SHSU in the Round of 16, losing 21-15 -- after falling behind 21-0. Assuming they don't lose a ton, we will have quite the early-season test in West Long Branch.

No official word on Gronowski’s injury beyond the coach calling it “serious” after the game. Internet speculation is ACL but haven’t seen that confirmed anywhere.
