Probably sign 8-14 with a 10 person fifth year group. Something in that range. That's my best guess.

I saw a Twitter post online today with 19 names on it. This isn't etched in stone by any stretch, but the 10 names that weren't on the Senior Tweet were the following:
Oliver, Gilliam, Argys, Reynolds, Doran, Reichwein, Olsofka, McCauley, Grady Smith, Prince
Therefore, 19 of the 29 Seniors and Super Seniors aren't coming back - again, one or two of the Seniors on that tweet might change their mind; but we'll use this for a baseline for this argument.
96 currently on the roster, 19 leaving creates 77. To me that means a 13 person recruiting class.
Here's what's leaving (assuming the 19 all leave): 5 DL, 3 WR, 3 DB, 2 OL, 2 LB, 2 TE, 1 K, 1 RB
Here's what's verbally committed: 1 TE, 1 WR, 1 QB, 1 DL;
I'd argue if they are trying to sign 9 more kids the focus would be DL (2), OL (1), K (1), DB (2), LB (1), RB (1), WR (1); You can probably find RBs and K's late in the game like they have done in the past - second signing period or early summer. I haven't seen much focus on LB on kids they've offered. I've seen more of a focus on OL, DL, DB on what they are still recruiting.

I liked the size Josh represents, but (as we saw last Saturday) size alone may not be enough to hit the level we are approachingi

Plus you will need to account for attrition with Freshmen and Sophomore's. Every team is facing losses and the portal has made it easier to leave so probably need every bit of 15 in next class.

I hope we can keep both our sophomore quarterbacks. Coming up with a scheme that surprises an FCS Tournament (if we get there) opponent with both in the game at once might help retain both...if it succeeds.

Forcucci is Class 7A all state. One of 3 QBs. 1 kid is going to ND for Football/Baseball.
I believe Class 7A is the second highest class in IL. Hopefully they got something there.
Signing Day is 4 weeks away.

I guess it’s okay to start speculating a bit more about 2022 super seniors (and personnel more broadly.) For HC Super Seniors, I think about a couple motivating factors and recent examples. 1) The player missed one or more seasons with intermittent/or season ending injuries and/or switched positions and feel they still having something to prove or finish at HC. Clearly having BW, Brekke, and Tenio have helped tremendously this year. Grant H was also having a good 5th year but has been sidelined with an injury for several weeks. Hopefully he can make it back for the playoff game(s). 2) As for those that enter the Transfer portal, players like B Foley and J Bowler got a year of grad school fully comped at Great Universities. Joe Lang got to fulfill a dream to play at one of the storied programs in his home state. Coming into this season, I thought the 2 players that were likely to transfer with potential FBS offers were John Smith and Nick Olsofka. Smith has FBS skills and has aspirations to get a shot on Sundays. If that doesn’t pan out, he wants to get a MA in Sports Admin (be a future AD as a career). Based on his performance this season (and HC career), he will get multiple FBS offers should he enter the portal. If he wants to go back home to FL, I could see FAU (or other Florida Group of 5 Universities) being all over him. I would think he would take the scholarship instead of a preferred walk on spot from a blue blood program in FL. I thought Olsofka might head to Western Kentucky but looks like he’s considering coming back to HC given the fact he’s been battling an injury since the Harvard Game. (Also, noteworthy is Spencer Gilliam looking to come back since he suffered a season ending injury early this season.) Liam Anderson is now another player that depending on what he wants to do (he may just want to graduate from HC and get started in his career) but he will have several offers if he enters the Portal. He’s literally just now hitting his potential (both in playing size at 225 lbs and the “Everywhere LB” position. I think he still has upside to his game. I’m sure we will find out his intentions soon. Thinking about next season, I feel really good about the Offense we have returning at all positions. I am a bit surprised Oliver is considering coming back for a 5th Year given his academic prowess but know he and his father LOVE HC and if given the opportunity to play one more season could very well take it. The biggest area of concern for 2022 will be our D-line losing all 4 starters in Modak, Cedeno, BW and Kuz. BW and to a lesser extent Kuz have gotten some grief from some on this board for a lack of “official stat sheet production” but as someone that watches this group very closely, they have been killing most O-Lines at the point of attack especially in the run game. Yes, I wish BW would have more sacks and TFL’s but he has been very disruptive in ways that don’t show on the stat sheet. Reichwein has had a monster season as a top reserve and I’m glad it looks like he will come back for 5th year where he will likely start at DE. I was also concerned about our secondary losing so many but seeing that both Reynolds and T Prince are considering 5th year’s is very heartening.
Beat Bucknell! (No letdown like the 2009 champs that secured the title against Lafayette then loss to Bucknell in the season finale!)

I think part of the reason the DL was heavier in numbers had to do with the increased limit of 96 players. The DL also loses Noah Johnson and I agree it's the biggest area of concern. I was a little shocked Kuz didn't want to come back for a 5th year. Fingers crossed Liam Anderson changes his mind as he's an excellent player. Looks like the LB room in general has some depth.
I also think Ng will be looking for a shot at FBS.
Right now the staff has 1 verbal commit on the DL - with what looks to be a pass rusher. My guess is they will try to sign at least 2 more players in this class, which I'm figuring on being about 13.
I'll be the first to admit - I've been in that group regarding lack of stat sheet production. Personally I wouldn't put that in quotes as I believe you have to get sacks when you are at DE against better competition to allow the team to drop 7 and cover the pass better. Hopefully Kiessling will be fully healthy next year to help in that department and Vaganek continues to grow into a role like that along with Reichwein.

Totally forgot to mention NG and I agree (although as a kicker not sure you need to prove yourself at a higher level of FBS competition except for being able to kick with 80k watching and yelling at you instead of 8k..) And yes finger’s crossed on TK, but him being out almost a year and a half is not a great sign for a full recovery. As for Defensive Tackle and replacing Modak and Cedeno, another player that was getting some nice burn early in the season was Jared Dyer. I was assuming he got injured around the Monmouth/Harvard game but haven’t seen him anywhere even in sweats like I see Spencer and Noah. He’s got a massive frame to put on another ~20 lbs and play at 6’5 ~285 as an upper classman.

I saw something on Dyer - I believe he had double shoulder surgery. I also agree he could get up to 275/285 easy on that frame. When they signed him in the second signing period a coach told me he could be a diamond in the rough and that he was just a massive kid.

Dyer also had shoulder surgery? I know 100% that’s what ended Noah’s season in the Yale game (on a dirty hit by the Yale O-lineman) Crazy if it happened to both of them in almost consecutive weeks…

My understanding from a most reliable source is that Nick, who is out for the rest of the season due to a season ending injury against Lafayette, will be coming back to Holy Cross next season.

There was a picture that Pucko posted after the Fordham game with the entire DL crew. The only two players I didn't see in the picture were Kiessling and Noah Johnson. Every other player - either who dressed or didn't including injuries (Dyer) were in the picture. I'll try to do some digging as to what the prognosis is with TK.

Nick Olsofka, the pride of Louisville, Kentucky. Nick went to Christian Academy Louisville (CAL) which has been ramping up its presence in athletics. I'd really like to see us get players from one or both of the powerhouse Catholic boys high schools, Trinity & St X, which annually produce multiple D-1 players, a number of whom have gone on to the NFL. I believe Trinity has won the USA Today national championship before.

The Coach was Mike Szabo who got offered by Louisville Trinity Catholic a month later and this season will be his 20th as HC of their great program. He was one of the greatest and most impactful coaches on my life. We had a reunion in TX with our six Seniors on that team and him for his 50th birthday a in 2019.

Offer # 51 --
DB Richard Francois, Jr., 6-1, 170, Fort Lauderdale HS, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
His Twitter reflects that he also received an offer from Rice today. He apparently also received an offer from Syracuse back in January.
